This set of pink nurse outfit Rem cosplay was shot during the July Chengdu Worldline Animation and Comic Exhibition; from costume preparation to final on-site shots, the entire process revolved around how to faithfully recreate this classic character from Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World.
For this shoot, I selected a pink patent leather nurse top, a material that presents a striking reflective texture under the exhibition's natural lighting and fill lights, paired with white safety shorts, lace-trimmed garter loops, and matching high heels. The large bow decoration on the leg creates a nice visual echo with the nurse cap and pink plush bow on my head. Before shooting, I specifically applied a butterfly tattoo sticker below my collarbone—a detail that adds a unique touch of character so the overall look doesn't feel too plain.
On site at a convention, especially large events like the July Chengdu Worldline Animation and Comic Exhibition, crowds are extremely dense. Taking convention photos with a clean background and comfortable composition requires genuine patience. The shooting location for this set was near the hall's glass curtain wall area with abundant light, and the high-reflectivity tile floor clearly reflected my full-body posture, which I really loved. During Cosplay photography, the photographer used a large softbox to control light direction, successfully avoiding harsh glare spots on the patent leather under strong light while preserving the outfit's translucent feel.
Since the shoot took place in July, even though the exhibition hall had air conditioning, wearing a heavy wig and airtight patent leather clothes was quite physically taxing. However, being able to interpret a beloved character in a specific style—like this cute nurse aesthetic—made all the effort feel completely worth it upon seeing the final results.
Due to time and venue constraints, we didn't shoot in outdoor spaces or more elaborate settings, taking shots mainly inside the hall. Yet the bustling presence of fellow players and visitors added a lively atmosphere that forms the unique charm of convention photos. The blue short wig's layered texture under venue lights, combined with refined eye makeup and contact lenses, delivered a visual effect well-aligned with character expectations.
Every set of convention photos serves not only to document the character, but also as a personal review of my prep workflow. Whether it's wig trimming and styling, coordinating outfit accessories, or communicating on-site with the photographer, these are all indispensable parts of cosplay as a hobby. From material selection to final execution, this pink nurse outfit achieved my pre-shoot expectations. Detail rendering in the set turned out well—especially the lace edges of the garter straps and bow embellishments on the shoes, subtle accessories easily overlooked that actually elevate overall completion.
During convention shoots, having other people or gear enter the frame is inevitable; capturing these clean shots amidst the crowd relied heavily on the photographer's framing and patient waiting. This photo set basically preserves the authentic lighting and ambient features of the venue without dramatic post-processing filters, maintaining a natural visual feel as a faithful record of my trip to the Chengdu Worldline Animation and Comic Exhibition.
