The studio photos for this Iuno cosplay are finally ready. Looking back at this shoot, I am very satisfied with the overall completion, especially how the white, blue, and gold color scheme presents a highly refreshing and translucent visual texture under pure white highlights. The character's setting leans toward a cool, slightly divine aura, so when doing the makeup, I specially chose blue-colored contacts, paired with cool-toned eyeshadow and a clear lip look, attempting to bring out that slightly ethereal yet agile feeling. The long blue twintails combined with the golden wing hair ornaments on top create a very harmonious color combination. The wig underwent meticulous trimming before the shoot, especially the bangs and sidelocks, which needed to present a natural curve rather than looking heavy or stiff. During the shoot, the details requiring the most attention were the ahoge at the top of the head and the symmetry of the braids on both sides; a slightly larger head turn could easily mess up the hair, so during intervals, I had to ask the assistant to quickly tidy it up with a comb.

For this cosplay photography session, we chose CI STUDIO. The setup was very minimalist, adorned with Roman columns and white flowers, stripping away all cluttered elements to keep the visual focus entirely on the character. The photographer, Mr. Yunlong, is highly seasoned in controlling high-key studio photography. The high-brightness soft light severely tests the costume's texture—especially the breastplate and the golden armguards, which can easily lose their metallic layering under intense light if not managed carefully. However, the metallic luster in the final photos looks very premium, without any cheap plastic feel. Although the pure white environment is clean, if the initial lighting setup isn't precise enough, the character and the background can easily blur together. Mr. Yunlong beautifully outlined my edge contours by using backlights and ambient lighting.

Before the shoot, my biggest worry was actually the pile of straps and complicated accessories. The waist chains, tassels, and the long straps on the legs were extremely time-consuming to put on and take off, and they easily got tangled during movement. Especially that pair of golden high-heeled sandals paired with white straps wrapping up to the thighs—while it beautifully flatters the leg shape and indeed enhances the divine feeling, finding my center of gravity on the Roman columns was quite exhausting. During the shoot, I had to stabilize my body posture on one hand while controlling the direction of the skirt hem and streamers on the other. Fortunately, the cooperation with the photographer went well, and we captured several shots with highly natural dynamics.

Personally, I really love the photo selected as the cover this time; the composition is quite full, and the expression in the eyes, facial performance, and breastplate highlights were caught accurately, capturing the character's traits at a single glance. Of course, complete full-body photos were also taken. To display the layering of the entire styling, especially the lower half, the gradient blue translucent streamers and the straps on the legs actually look very effective when fluttering during movement. Shooting characters with a lot of metal and streamers heavily tests muscle memory; while holding a pose, one must mentally predict the angle of every single streamer and armor piece, as a slight displacement will break the balance. The lighting also changes with the angle, so it's not like every press of the shutter yields a great shot, demanding immense patience and tacit understanding from both sides.

For the character of Iuno, I feel her charm lies not only in the beautiful outfit but more in that atmosphere blending coolness and elegance together. Therefore, during the shooting process, I intentionally dialed back my expressions, using my eyes to convey emotions, minimizing large movements, and relying more on static body language. The few photos of sitting or leaning against the columns that you will see later are attempts to present this static aesthetic. The height of the Roman columns makes them rather awkward to sit on; stretching the legs naturally to showcase curves, letting the shoe straps form beautiful lines, and coordinating with the upper body posture took quite a bit of thought.

When selecting the photos, we intentionally kept several shots displaying the leg strap details, as the strap design of this styling is an exceptionally striking element in the entire outfit. From styling coordination to lighting communication, and then to post-processing fine-tuning, this shoot was a highly fulfilling creative experience. Although the structure of this costume has many layers—from the gold ornaments at the neckline, the chest armor, the waist tassels, to the thigh straps—every single detail has its own reason for existence during actual wearing. And an extremely clean environment like a pure white studio happens to magnify every detail of the clothing. Many people might think high-key studio photography washes out the layers of color, but in reality, as long as the lights are set up well, it makes the colors brighter and purer instead. Now that the final prints are out, I am very satisfied with the texture presentation this time, which did not waste all the energy consumed during the early preparations.
