[Sandrone Marionette cosplay] Genshin Impact Fes D2 Convention Photos: Small Details with the Lantern

The convention photos for Sandrone Marionette on Fes Day 2 are finally organized. This time, I'm sharing angles and poses that haven't been published before. The core of this outfit lies in the black, white, and gold color pairing and layering. The white rigid petal-shaped headpiece on the head features distinct pleat designs along the edges, requiring position adjustment when worn so it doesn't look top-heavy; the black decorative dots on the inner side perfectly balance the simplicity of the white. The collar section uses a black high-neck choker embedded with a red gem in the center as a visual focal point, which, paired with the inner white bandeau top, allows a natural transition between upper body skin tones and costume colors.

The arms feature a detached black long sleeves design, stitched with golden and red geometric patterns at the cuffs to match the outfit's tone. The white gloves are fitted cleanly to the fingers; when holding that small lantern in Photo 6, the white gloves show a very clean reflective texture under side-backlighting.

The skirt structure consists of multi-layer fabric piecing. The outer layer is a black base skirt with golden trim outlining the waist silhouette. A large white textured fabric drapes down the front, swaying gently when walking. Although the gold accessory piece on the back carries some weight, walking around the convention site naturally supported the regal, luxurious feel of this look.

In Photo 4, I tried a leg-lifted pose mainly to display the proportions of the shoes and white stockings within the overall look. These shoes are custom-made in a black, red, and gold color scheme with a uniquely shaped heel that, combined with the white stockings, visually elongates the leg lines. To capture this pose, I needed to find a stable center of gravity at the moment of lifting my leg while preventing the skirt hem from deforming due to large movements.

The wig remains a light-golden long straight hairstyle, complete with straight bangs and sideburn framing, nicely restoring the hairstyle features in the character design. Contact lenses were switched to a blue-gray tone, paired with orange-tinted lip color to prevent the overall cool tones from looking too gloomy, keeping a cool, serene atmospheric feel instead. During the shoot, the photographer specifically utilized the large floor-to-ceiling windows of the venue to create great side-backlighting, forming a halo of highlight around the edges of my hair, which reduced the artificial plastic look of the wig and made it appear much more natural.

The blue glowing small lantern held in hand in Photo 6 was actually a prop borrowed from people on site. Many fellow fans who saw this look wanted to help take photos; the light source of this lantern was pale blue, which echoed my cool-toned contact lenses when lifted. The lamp itself had a noticeable weight, but its wood-and-metal casing complemented this outfit seamlessly.

The atmosphere on Day 2 of the event was very lively, with many glass windows mixing natural light with ceiling venue lights. Most shots chose a relaxed state, such as the casual glance back and chin-resting in Photo 1, or the standing posture gently lifting the skirt in Photo 2, aiming to find a balance between the character's regal grandeur and the casual convention vibe. The physical layering of this costume is actually much more complex than the 2D design art, especially the gold piping on the waist and the black lace trim on the skirt hem.

While taking these photos, we tried our best to dodge the crowd, keeping only the blurred lights and structures of the venue in the background. As camera angles shifted, the reflective highlights on the sleeves and gloves, the red gem on the chest, and the sheen of the white stockings all produced different visual effects with changes in lighting. Color grading in post-production aimed to preserve color brightness without excessively cranking up contrast, allowing the black and gold textures to be authentically recreated.
