【Rem cosplay】Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-: Comic Exhibition Carrot & bunny ears cosplay Records - Image 1

For this comic exhibition at Chongqing Dreamland, I chose Rem from Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- as my featured character. Waking up early in the morning to start hair and makeup, the short blue wig required careful styling to shape the blunt bangs and side layering. To capture the character's 2D anime feel, I specifically chose bright blue colored contacts for the eye makeup, paired with dark blue eyeshadow and distinct pink blush. For headwear, the bunny ears headband and that slender pink ribbon bow were the highlights of the look, while for the outfit, I wore a white halter lace top; the lace on the chest and light blue embroidered textures resonated wonderfully with the character's aura.

The exhibition venue was packed with people that day and quite warm, so walking through the crowd in this costume was a real test of stamina. However, to stay in top form, I continuously sought relatively ventilated spots to take breaks while carefully preserving my makeup integrity. The plastic carrot prop in hand was prepared specifically for this styling; its lightweight material made posing with it effortless and fatigue-free. I met many enthusiastic photographers and fellow fans on site, everyone was very polite, and the shooting sessions went smoothly. To achieve better results, I adjusted my angles in front of the lens multiple times—such as holding up the carrot with one hand while gently bending the other arm across my chest, striving to convey the character's innocent yet subtly playful demeanor.

I actually prepared for this Rem cosplay for quite a while. Her gaze has very distinctive characteristics, so during the shoot, I deliberately controlled my expressions to make my eyes appear clearer and more focused. When shooting location snaps, the lighting in the hall was complex; to prevent harsh shadows from falling across my face, the photographer constantly scouted optimal reflection angles. After each sequence of poses, I went over to check the camera screen to confirm details, such as whether the bangs had shifted or if the fluffy bunny ears had been deformed by the draft.

The atmosphere of a comic convention is always contagious. Although I was exhausted by the end of the day with aching feet from hours of walking, seeing the final shots made every bit of effort feel worthwhile. The fans on site were also incredibly kind, often murmuring discussions about the character; that sense of recognition made doing this Rem cosplay feel deeply meaningful. From costume to props, the entire styling was dedicated to recreating that gentle yet resolute image in my heart. The experience at Chongqing Dreamland Comic Exhibition was wonderful, teaching me even more about convention photography and mastering character nuances.
