[Rem cosplay] Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-: Pure White Fluffy Lamb Outfit

While this white fluffy lamb dress looks adorable, caring for it during actual shooting was remarkably time-consuming, as the white fabric easily gathers dust and readily picks up cat hair while moving around. Still, to faithfully recreate lamb Rem's design, all this preparation was completely worth it.

The three large wooden buttons on the costume have a wonderful texture, and the off-the-shoulder design paired with a red bell choker visually elongates neck proportions while adding a playful touch. To bring the lower half closer to that sweet, adorable lamb aesthetic, I chose ribbed Pink over-the-knee socks paired with white fluffy leg warmers. These over-the-knee socks are actually very unforgiving on leg shape; to highlight the leg contours and snug fit during shooting, I had to continuously adjust my stance—engaging my core, standing on tiptoes, and leveraging mirror angles. Posing on one leg like in Photo 2, for instance, elongated leg length and highlighted the socks' texture even better.

The white rug used in the setting echoed the overall color palette. The sleeping cat in the background certainly stole the spotlight, yet serendipitously added a cozy touch of everyday life to the scene. For lighting, front-side fill lights were used to make the fluffy textures appear softer and loftier, while making it easier to brighten skin tones. Submitting to both the 2D Vision Project and the Fan Content Festival was also a way to share diverse styles of work with everyone. When it comes to the saying "If true love has a color," it truly is an iconic phrase deeply associated with Rem. While preserving the character's signature blue hair, this fluffy lamb ensemble incorporates plenty of soft, plush textures, hoping to bring everyone a comforting sense of healing. Capturing this styling—from costume, makeup, and props down to the details of the Pink over-the-knee socks—left me genuinely satisfied. The entire process spanning makeup, fitting, lighting adjustments, angle hunting, and post-production liquifying and color grading made this cosplay, like every other, a delightfully fresh experience.
