What are you looking at? Want to be bitten by a white tiger? This white tiger girl themed outfit actually took quite a long time to prepare from conception to realization. The costume uses a black Modern Cheongsam, retaining the classical charm of the stand-up collar and golden piping, while the chest features a semi-transparent mesh splicing design, breaking the dullness of traditional cheongsams. The cat paw prints on the skirt hem and the red straps on the sides are the finishing touches. Paired with this thick white plush stole on the arms, the overall plush feel and feline nature are instantly maximized. The white twin-tails paired with cat ears featuring black stripes, along with the huge golden bells on both sides, create a strong black, white, and golden color collision visually.
I also did a lot of research in terms of makeup. Blue contact lenses combined with a large-area red smudging around the eyes, with red specially dotted at the corners of the eyes, attempting to create a feline feeling that is both dangerous and charming. The lip makeup chose a bright true red, forming a contrast with the overall black-and-white tone. In terms of props, holding this black long pipe with a long red tassel in hand is meant to give the static posture a dynamic sense of line, and it also makes the hand movements appear less empty during shooting. The nails were also painted with red nail polish, echoing the tassel and lip color.
The shooting location was chosen in a place furnished with Chinese carved wooden beds and screens. The dark hardwood and cold, hard carvings of the furniture just set off the black color of the outfit and the white fur. In front of the lens, sitting and lying postures were adjusted many times to better showcase the White stockings and leg shapes while preventing the clothes from producing extra wrinkles. This pair of white over-the-knee socks adopts a toe-free design, which can wonderfully flatter the leg lines when worn. Regarding the posture of holding the pipe, the strength of the wrist and the angle of the shoulders are important—they shouldn't be too stiff, carrying a bit of a casual, nonchalant feel. Capturing the right gaze is also very important; staring straight into the lens needs to carry a bit of provocation and playfulness to match the white tiger setting.
The lighting on-site mainly relied on the cooperation of constant lights and flashes in the studio. To make the white wig and plush stole present a delicate texture, the light ratio was controlled very carefully. The joy of Anime-style photography lies in materializing the settings in one's mind. From the combing of the wig to the placement of plush props, every single detail requires continuous micro-adjustment on-site. For example, that black-and-white patterned plush little tiger doll placed on the tabletop not only enriches the layering of the frame but also makes the overall atmosphere look more lively. This set of images presents not just a display of clothing, but an exploration of that mysterious, elegant, and slightly aggressive white tiger imagery. Although it was quite tiring on the day of the shoot, seeing the final photos, I feel that the presented texture reached expectations, making it a very satisfying Convention photos record.
