Yesterday, I braved the scorching sun to visit the West Suburbs pool—a true 2D special ops warrior rushing to shoot two full looks in a single day. Among them, this Swimsuit look for Rem cosplay from Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- left quite a deep impression on me. To wear this black-and-white maid-style Swimsuit, just adjusting the laces on the back took considerable time; although taking it on and off was troublesome, its body-flattering effect was immediate. The wig and headwear were somewhat of a burden under the high outdoor heat, especially the flower ornaments which easily got knocked loose, so I was carefully maintaining my styling the entire time. I prepared thoroughly for sun protection, but to match the layering requested by the photographer, I ultimately decided to wear only a single cooling sleeve—the bare arm on the other side looked more natural and better accentuated the outfit's sleeveless design. This was truly a thoughtful trade-off made for the visual appeal.

The shooting location was chosen at the West Suburbs pool with abundant natural light, where the water reflections were a huge bonus. We specifically found a wicker chair spot shaded by lush greenery and a canopy, placing a large blue-and-white swim ring beside it, instantly maximizing the summer atmosphere. During the shoot, quite a few passersby gathered to watch; though a bit shy, I maintained my professional attitude. The photographer utilized side backlighting, making the skin texture look exceptionally delicate and translucent. I constantly adjusted poses like making peace signs and gently touching my hair, striving to showcase different details. Because of heavy sweating, I touched up my lip tint and setting powder twice mid-shoot. The composition of the first photo is complete with the subject centered, perfectly showing off the Swimsuit lines; the second photo has a dynamic feel, looking very lively with the head-touching gesture. Overall, although this outdoor shoot was exhausting, the texture and lighting of the final photos far exceeded expectations, making it a very successful summer cosplay experience.
