[Hoshimi Miyabi cosplay] Section 6 of Zenless Zone Zero: Blade Drawn and Ready for Action

Bringing this full gear to the Zhongshan Comic Convention, I captured a very satisfying set of convention photos before photographer Sanyue's lens. The Cosplay outfit was meticulously coordinated: a white shirt base paired with a black tie originally gave off a formal uniform feel, but to match the character's combat lore, it was topped with the teal wide-sleeved coat. The coat's tailoring is unique—voluminous with an elegant drape—and with yellow paneling on the shoulders and collar along with the star badge, the upper body silhouette achieves a layered look that is both sharp and fluid.

The pair of black plush animal ears on the head is one of the soul elements of the entire styling. Paired with silky-smooth, straight black hair and blunt bangs, the entire silhouette instantly becomes three-dimensional. Of course, the most striking feature is the eyes—the red-eyed look, catching the venue's light, looks exceptionally spirited. To recreate the character's cool and sharp aura, the eye makeup deliberately accentuated the eye contours, giving that unmistakable Section 6 vibe when looking in the mirror.

Aside from the clothing, the most labor-intensive parts of the gear this time were the sword and the tactical armguard on the left arm. The blade features a matte silver finish, with orange-yellow and silver color separations on the handguard, providing a solid weight in hand. During the shoot, larger motions created striking shifts in light and shadow across the blade. The black tactical armor on the left arm, paired with red straps, immediately created a stark contrast between rigid mechanical toughness and the uniform's soft drape.

Speaking of the venue at the Zhongshan Comic Convention: the interior space was spacious, and the metal roof trusses overhead added an industrial aesthetic. Sanyue's lighting setup was very creative, placing the light relatively high to render facial contours crisp and three-dimensional. In particular, for the pose kneeling on one knee with sword raised, the backlight behind directly created an intense contrast of light and shadow.

As for posing, I actually tried many variations: drawing the blade standing up, or looking back over the shoulder—all felt quite cool. But what best showcased the character's strength were the low crouching poses. In that featured shot, crouching with a low center of gravity while holding the sword vertically with the right hand created a geometric composition between the blade and body lines. Paired with the black stockings cosplay and tall black boots in this Cosplay outfit, the leg silhouette looked long and slender, conveying the character's signature elegance while maintaining combat sharpness.

To capture the most natural dynamic motion, we tested several different angles. In fact, subtle moments like looking down or staring straight into the lens, complemented by the blade's rim highlights, naturally brought out that visual tension. The teal coat fluttered gently in the breeze as I walked, enhancing the live dynamic feel. Although crowds gathered around the booths and backgrounds were understandably busy, the lens's soft bokeh blurred the distracting points of light into dreamy background accents. The chandeliers and ceiling lights blurred behind and above, adding rich cinematic atmosphere to the photo set, making it look as if set in a dim urban combat zone.

Honestly, the greatest joy of cosplaying is recreating these fictional characters in reality. From wearing the costumes and controlling props to regulating emotions before the lens, every step strives to make them more lifelike. This set of convention photos from the Zhongshan Comic Convention captured that sense of support and battle-readiness perfectly. Even though the gear was heavy and my shoulders and arms ached from holding the sword for so long, seeing that sharp, commanding posture in the finished shots made everything completely worthwhile.
