[Reze Cosplay] Between Light, Shadow, and Bouquets: Freezing a Quiet Moment in the World of Chainsaw Man

This time, I attempted the look of Reze from Chainsaw Man. From costume selection to prop pairing, I made some prior conceptualization and preparation.

The outfit overall presents a black-and-white minimalist style, mainly consisting of a sleeveless white turn-down collar top, tied with a long black ribbon at the neckline, and paired with a black choker featuring a silver metallic ring. The lower body consists of black shorts, plus black knee-high socks and black platform loafers. The classic school vibe blends well with the character's unique cool and sharp temperament. The choker and ring on the neck serve as the visual anchor of the entire look, which not only restores the original setting but also makes this seemingly basic black-and-white combination highly recognizable.

To complement this refreshing hair and makeup setup, I chose a bouquet of white daisies as a prop, along with a transparent long-handled umbrella. The green stems and white petals of the daisies happen to brighten the frame, keeping the overall colors from being too dull. The transparent umbrella was chosen to match the scene under the blossoming trees, capable of refracting very soft light under the sunshine.

The natural light on the day of the shoot was absolutely fantastic. Under the fair-faced concrete wall texture, the sunlight slanted in, forming geometric patterns of alternating light and shadow on the clothes and the bouquet. In this scene, I attempted poses like closing my eyes and gently touching my hair, with the image presenting a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. The third photo utilized the clear, crisp blue sky as a background and adopted a low-angle shot looking up while leaning against the railing, which beautifully displayed the lines of the neck and the silhouette of the shoulders, while also making the frame look wider and more refreshing.

The shoot under the cherry blossom trees marked the finale of the entire photoset, and it was also the most dreamlike group regarding light and shadow. The backlight filtered through the pink petals and hit the transparent umbrella surface, illuminating the entire frame with extreme tenderness. I closed my eyes under the umbrella, trying my best to experience the quiet aura within this character. Finally, a full-body photo was taken in an outdoor corridor with wooden beams, mainly to fully display the state of this outfit under daily sunlight. The combination of platform shoes and over-the-knee socks not only modified the leg shape but also struck a great balance between the character's personality and daily life feel.

The charm of Cosplay photography lies in the ability to three-dimensionalize flat character designs through different scenes, light and shadow, and props. During this shoot, crouching down, tilting my head up, and adjusting the intensity of closing my eyes through repeated integration finally presented these groups of frames under different lighting conditions. The simple combination of white and black displayed very rich detail layers in a natural light environment, making this Photography sharing a highly delightful creative experience.
