The ultimate form of alchemy might no longer be the collision of chemical reagents, but the intertwining of code streams and neon lights. Extracting Albedo's character essence from Genshin Impact and projecting it into this futuristic scene filled with esports elements, choosing unedited straight-out-of-camera shots was meant to maximally preserve the pure feel of the live cyberpunk lighting.
For the styling, a fluffy silver-white short wig was chosen, with layered ends that fit this spiky yet refined character design. Before stepping in front of the camera, thicker eyeliner and deep eyeshadow were kept, paired with light blue contact lenses to make the gaze sharper under cool-toned ambient lighting. The red star mark on the neck served as an eye-catching highlight of this makeup look.
The outfit mainly consists of a blue and white techwear jacket and shorts, accented with gold and black metallic textures on the shoulder armor and armguards. The red-and-black color-blocked tactical leather gloves add a mechanical feel when holding props, while the tall tactical boots elongate body proportions, making the relaxed leaning-back pose on the gaming chair still feel full of power.
The light and shadow setup in the selfie studio focused on deep blue and purple-red, paired with orange-yellow light strips on the side to create a warm-cool contrast. The illuminated pixel board and wireframe controller model, made of translucent material, were directly lit by bottom LED lights, while a large aperture blurred the background neon light strips into colorful bokeh spots, adding depth. By varying postures—from sitting to propping legs on the desk—and coordinating prop angles, it created an authentic state of Cyber Albedo existing in a digital world.
Unedited straight-out-of-camera cosplay photography places high demands on lighting control, requiring a balance between facial exposure and background neon lights without relying on post-processing retouching. The handheld glowing pixel sign made of acrylic material features dot-matrix fonts that switch between blue or red light, serving as the visual focal point. Details like dual monitors and mechanical keyboards on the gaming desk, combined with the reflective tabletop, built a complete story background.
This was an unpretentious, stylized presentation completed through seamless coordination of makeup, props, and lighting, allowing me to deeply appreciate the fun of shooting this kind of sci-fi tech style in actual photography.
