[Firefly cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail's Bridal Look: Heading Straight for Oak Roll Cake After the Shoot

Finally wrapped up shooting this Firefly cosplay in her Bridal look in front of the lens! Packing up gear right away to grab that Oak Roll Cake I've been craving for so long.

Preparing after receiving this outfit was actually quite intricate, especially the wig. The silver wavy hair required time to style into a soft and fluffy texture, which, combined with the veil's drape, faithfully recreated the light yet solemn visual effect of the character wearing a wedding dress.

The design of the costume is very thoughtful. The yellow bow tie on the chest and the waist corset structure accentuate body contours beautifully, while large areas of white along with pale teal feather-like and petal-like skirts create a dreamy vibe. When walking in this dress, the skirt hem naturally spreads out, and the trailing train design inherently carries a sense of fluid grace.

I specifically chose a cozy home setting for the photoshoot, because although the Bridal look is gorgeous, I wanted to capture a sense of everyday warmth and small joys of life. The white plush carpet, the green cartoon cloth cover on the air conditioner, and the wall clock all added a touch of intimacy to the frame, as if capturing this moment in my own bedroom.

As someone who pays close attention to details, I put a lot of effort into accessories. The ruffled lace wristbands feature thin blue ribbons, while the White over-the-knee socks on my legs carry an embroidered texture paired with pale teal straps. Sequins and beads on the skirt reflect under the light, while the transition between white stockings and teal gives the overall look a refreshing and ethereal aura. For this character's Bridal look, I feel this lower-body layering adds major bonus points in this Anime cosplay endeavor.

Honestly, shooting a high-detail cosplay set like this consumes quite a bit of physical stamina—the outfit is weighty and wearing the wig gets rather stuffy and hot—but the moment you get that perfect shot makes everything feel completely worth it. Finishing the shoot leaves me so thrilled that I instantly get the urge to rush out for an Oak Roll Cake. Sweets bring pure happiness, especially after going through intricate makeup and posing.

Rather than opting for a complex studio this time, I felt a setting close to daily life better showcases the cute, routine side of the character. My own room bathed in bright natural light created an atmosphere that felt completely unforced. During shooting, I tried several different angles—whether sitting on the carpet catching reflection angles through a mirror, standing while lifting my leg to show the full skirt, or sitting composedly on a chair—all beautifully maximized the visual effects of this attire.

Overall, bringing Firefly's Bridal look to life fulfilled my imaginative vision for this character in Honkai: Star Rail. Being able to wear meticulously prepared outfits and document different sides of myself in an everyday space is the greatest joy of doing cosplay. Applying makeup and putting on the veil instantly maxes out character immersion, but the moment the wig comes off, I feel myself return to reality, with the aroma of Oak Roll Cake immediately taking over my mind.
