For this blue-and-white bridal styling of Luo Tianyi, extensive preparation went into every nuance from headpiece down to skirt hems. The wig featured long straight pale silver-blue locks with a touch of natural wave; the crown was sculpted with symmetrical looped bun structures, anchored by two oversized blue-and-white bows and pale-blue blossoms, crowned with a waist-length sheer white veil. For makeup, I opted for a luminous, dewy base, centering focus on the eyes: bright green contact lenses, shimmery eyeshadow dusting the lids, blue butterfly appliques framing both cheeks, and scattered rhinestones to evoke an ethereal, dreamlike freshness.
Textural layering served as the core of this ensemble. The dress was an off-shoulder pale-blue gown with a straight neckline and airy puff sleeves crafted from delicate soft tulle. Multiple tiers of sheer white mesh overlaid the gown, cinched with an empire waistline where cascading pearl strands draped over the bodice and waist, chiming softly in motion. The ballgown skirt was voluminous, stealing the spotlight with an oversized gradient blue-and-white butterfly applique—its wings folded from sheer organza and studded with central pearls, encircled by three-dimensional blue fabric roses. A matching butterfly necklace inlaid with blue rhinestones echoed the hair ornaments and gown motifs seamlessly.
On the day of Firefly ACG Expo, ample indoor venue lighting and outdoor natural sunshine provided ideal conditions for photography. In outdoor areas, keeping the veil and tiered tulle fluffy required careful fluffing between takes, as gentle breezes easily disordered the multi-layered chiffon. Working with the photographer, we tested several perspectives: slightly low-angle shots emphasizing the skirt's grandeur, and half-body close-ups spotlighting the butterfly makeup and intricate headpiece. Though spending an entire day walking the floor in this gown was tiring, seeing the cascading tiers and luminous blue glowing under sunlight made every bit of preparation and fatigue worthwhile.
As a cosplayer, pre-event hours are inevitably consumed by wig sculpting and costume assembly. To ensure the oversized bows and floral clusters stood upright without drooping, generous hairspray and hidden bobby pins were applied. Because the pearl strands and fabric blossoms were hand-sewn, moving through crowded halls demanded extra caution to avoid catching onto attendees' bags or clothes. In bustling convention halls, scouting open spaces with clean backdrops and shooting with wide apertures to melt passing crowds into creamy bokeh helped keep the subject isolated and prominent. The color grading remained strictly within clean blue-and-white tones without extraneous color pollution, merely lifting shadows slightly in post to preserve that pristine, cool-toned serenity. I hope this dedicated set brings everyone a refreshing visual experience.
