Shooting this set of Lucy cosplay photos, I mainly wanted to capture her trait of being detached from the cyber metropolis yet carrying a hint of softness as seen in the story. For the costume, I chose a top and pants made of glossy black material. The glossy material generates strong reflections under the lights, highlighting the sense of technology within the Cyberpunk cosplay background. The red and black patchwork lines extending from the neckline and body, paired with that diamond-shaped badge featuring a silver border and red inlay on the chest, serve as highly important identifying marks to accurately recreate this character. The most unique part of this styling is the detached pure white sleeves extending downward from the shoulders, forming a sharp visual contrast with the dark main top. The black lines intentionally drawn on the arms were also specially marked; these tiny details are highly elevating whether shooting outdoors or in a studio.

For the hairstyle, this short hair with blunt bangs features a gradient of white, light blue, and light pink. Coupled with blush and eyeshadow carrying a pink-purple tint, as well as light blue contact lenses, it creates an overall dreamy yet alienated visual effect. During the shooting process, we experimented with different perspectives, including a high-angle view looking down while holding a phone, a slightly low-angle close-up, and a relaxed sitting state. In terms of poses, I hoped to present that lazy yet slightly defensive urban feel. A friend used a deep purple curtain for the background, which, combined with cool-toned fill light, further amplified the texture of the glossy clothing. The overall atmosphere fits the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners cosplay worldview beautifully.

Although doing this makeup and styling as part of my Anime cosplay routine—especially handling the glossy material and the volume of the wig—takes quite a bit of time, being able to bring out the character's sense of atmosphere in front of the lens made the entire process highly enjoyable. Especially the handling of the reddish tint at the outer corners of the eyes in the makeup can make the gaze appear deeper. This is exceptionally critical for portraying characters with a somewhat melancholic temperament, allowing the intended emotions to be conveyed without needing too many expressions.
