[Marie Cosplay] Blue Archive Gym Uniform: Athletic Girl in the Sun

Putting on this blue-and-white gym uniform paired with iconic orange-yellow animal ears and a white headband, I was filled with anticipation before the shoot. Today I mainly wanted to record Marie's gentle yet youthfully energetic feel, especially in the setting of a sunlit indoor sports equipment room, where the light and props provided a wonderful shooting atmosphere.

Regarding details of this styling, the wig chosen was a layered orange-yellow tone, keeping a natural curve at the ends. Combined with fluffy big ears on both sides and accented by a cluster of small white flowers near the ear, the overall contrast turned out just right. As for costume, the blue-and-white short-sleeved T-shirt paired with dark blue athletic shorts offered a loose fit that fit the athletic theme while remaining very comfortable. To complement different poses, the outer blue-and-white color-blocked sports jacket played a key supporting role during the shoot; slipping off half the jacket or wearing just the T-shirt expressed completely different temperaments.

For shoes and socks, I paired white thigh-high stockings with classic black canvas shoes—clean, sharp, and fitting an athletic girl's dressing habits, stretching leg lines under the lens for an even fresher visual look. Props used, such as the blue, yellow, and white volleyball and the blue-packaged plastic water bottle, were elements that fit the scene of relaxing after PE class perfectly.

During shooting, we primarily utilized natural light in the room. Afternoon sunlight streaming through venetian blinds and white sheer curtains formed alternating light and shadow spots on the floor and metal lockers. This side-backlighting effect sharpened character contours while enhancing the frame's atmosphere. Across several seated poses, I shifted my center of gravity, trying single-hand chin rests, hugging my knees, or stretching out my legs to display a young girl's leisure. In particular, the composition of sitting with the volleyball squeezed beside my legs utilized props without making the frame feel crowded.

In addition to standard seated poses, there were half-squatting and standing postures. Holding a yellow wooden desk with one hand and leaning back slightly with one leg lifted emphasized dynamic balance. There was also a posture straddling a metal railing during the shoot, with legs resting naturally over the railing edge, combined with the jacket styling to highlight a casual, lazy side. Since the gym uniform inherently carries strong athletic traits, I tried to keep movements relaxed and natural while adding interaction with props. For instance, tossing the volleyball in hand or gently touching it allowed flat Anime-style photography to convey more narrative depth.

To capture this set, we started late in the afternoon when light was softest; as light shifted, warm and cool tone layers became richer. Paired with clean, simple makeup, we strived to recreate the character's clear, focused demeanor. The gym's metal lockers, metal carts, and nearby scoreboard made the scene feel more authentic and grounded. This everyday campus feel often touches people more than grand backgrounds.

Although the entire shooting process took quite some time with constant pose and angle adjustments, seeing ideal lighting and composition appear on screen made everything worthwhile. This Gym uniform photo set is not only an interpretation of character styling, but also aims to convey a passionate, youthful, and natural lifestyle attitude.
