This time, I took on the challenge of a character from Sakura, Moyu. -as the Night's, Reincarnation-. Although I haven't fully restored the cat tail and red high heels from the character design yet (I opted for white socks and plush leg warmers instead), the overall white and blue sailor uniform with a cropped top and pleated skirt, combined with this pair of furry beast ears, looks surprisingly fresh on camera. The wig features a silver-white to pink gradient, with hair strands that feel very smooth. Using a star-shaped phone case to partially obscure the face helped shift the focus of the frame onto the tailoring and accessory details of the costume. The red trim on the skirt hem and the small yellow bell on the top echo the elements from the original illustration perfectly. During the shoot, I utilized the natural light by the floor-to-ceiling windows, where the light filtered through the curtains and fell softly onto the white plush floor mat, creating a unified white tone across the skin and costume. The difficulty of this look lay in the fluffiness of the collar and sleeves; I spent quite some time styling them to ensure the cuffs didn't look bulky. Additionally, I chose slightly sheer material for the white over-the-knee socks, which flatters the leg shape without making the lower body look heavy. The joy of cosplay lies in presenting a 2D character using physical materials; I put a lot of effort into everything from wig trimming to accessory fixing—I even picked a smiley-face phone case to add a touch of playfulness. Although some minor details couldn't be 100% replicated due to the props I had on hand, I feel I captured that lightweight and agile temperament. Looking at the raw shots after the shoot, I feel this kind of fresh uniform style is very easy to handle; I plan to challenge more complex poses next time.
