[March 7th cosplay] Winter Passes, Dawn Arrives Under the Frozen Waterfall — Experience the Ice and Snow World of Honkai: Star Rail

Posting this set of frozen waterfall Location and Convention Photos just happens to fit the summer need for cooling off. On the coldest days of last winter, to find this genuine natural frozen waterfall, the photographer and I hiked into the deep mountains for nearly two hours. The temperature dropped to over ten degrees below zero Celsius, but when we finally saw those massive icicles hanging down, I felt all the freezing cold along the way was completely worth it.

To fit the theme of "Winter Passes, Dawn Arrives," we chose to shoot against a very clean, pure blue-and-white background. The surface of this costume features a reflective gradient finish, which, paired with a white over-the-knee socks outfit and matching high heels, looked extremely crystal-clear amidst the snow and ice despite the cold. Honestly, walking on ice in an off-shoulder miniskirt really tests one's core stability. The ice surface was slick and hard; to strike natural standing poses, I spent almost the entire time relying on core strength to stay steady, quickly wrapping myself in a down jacket during breaks to warm up. The white-and-green bouquet in my hands was also specially chosen to balance out the cool tone of the blue-purple color scheme.

During the shoot, we utilized natural light as much as possible. The first close-up shot was mainly aimed at showing the character's quiet side—I closed my eyes slightly to capture a peaceful and pure moment, with sunlight coming from behind to cast a soft glow along the edges of my short pink hair. The second wide shot established the grand environment, where a person appears tiny against the massive ice wall, creating a contrast in scale that adds richness to the composition. Under the photographer's guidance, we repeatedly adjusted camera positions, especially to avoid overexposed spots caused by reflections on the icicles.

As for the AI concerns many people worry about, I can only say that the freezing chill and authentic sense of awe are things algorithms struggle to simulate. You can see the texture of the frozen water surface, the tiny air bubbles inside the icicles, and the subtle ankle adjustments made as I exerted force stepping on the ice in high heels. The raw photos hold extremely rich light and shadow details—the natural skin tone chilled by low temperatures and the natural reflection of costume fabrics under refracted light all retain the genuine essence of portrait photography. The post-processing mostly involved adjusting exposure and color temperature without excessively altering the background structure at all.

Completing a shoot in front of a frozen waterfall in this outfit is truly a special memory. Being able to bring a touch of visual cool to everyone at the end of summer feels like a sweet echo of our hard work setting off last winter. The crisp sound of cracking ice and the biting cold wind remain the most vivid background audio for this set of photos.
