To capture the languid yet vibrant state of a cat that has just awakened, I specifically scheduled this shoot for the morning, utilizing natural daylight and an intimate, homely setting to build the mood. The entire shoot revolved around the daily life of an anime cat without referencing any specific animated series, drawing inspiration purely from everyday life.
Let's start with the hair and makeup. To fit the Catwoman concept, I wore long wavy blonde hair paired with greenish-gray contact lenses, fluffy orange-and-white Animal ears, a red collar, and a small golden tag. For wardrobe, I opted for an oversized white short-sleeved T-shirt with a green fish print, pulling the collar down off one shoulder to add an effortless loungewear touch. Down below, light denim shorts and white mid-calf socks kept the color palette crisp and luminous, highlighting the liveliness of an Energetic girl. My nails were painted a soft sparkling pink to add finesse to close-up hand movements.
In terms of staging, cardboard boxes and yarn balls served as the true heart of the props. In the first shot, I sprawled forward on the rug to imitate a cat stretching, with side-rim lighting casting distinct shadows across the floor and arms to enhance spatial depth. In the second frame, I curled inside the cardboard box, wrapping a thick yellow rope around myself to add visual lines to the composition while subtly exposing a shoulder and leg for a relaxed, natural charm. The third shot captured me hiding behind the rim of the box with only eyes and fingertips peeking out—a peekaboo posture mimicking a curious feline observing its surroundings, zeroing in on eye-to-camera contact. For the fourth, I sat inside the box holding red berries, adding a splash of vibrant crimson while leaning halfway out to flash a playful, direct gaze at the lens.
The fifth shot transitioned to crisp white bedsheets, which was the pose I invested the most effort into. Posing on all fours effectively displayed the enormous fluffy tail behind me while holding a yellow fish-shaped waffle, surrounded by scattered yellow yarn balls. The yellow yarn echoed my hair color while reinforcing the feline love for playing with yarn. Pairing shorts with white socks visually elongated my legs, blending pure cuteness with an alluring appeal in this pose.
As someone who adores Anime-style fashion, every transformation into a different aesthetic serves as an archive of everyday life. You don't need complex sets or elaborate draperies; ordinary cardboard boxes, balls of yarn, and a simple white T-shirt can carve out a cat's personal sanctuary. The shoot was largely about seizing unposed, spontaneous moments—the fluid extension of an arm while stretching, the spark in the eyes when hiding, or the slight puff of the cheeks when nibbling snacks. In directing poses, I kept my limbs supple, emulating the unique lightness and vigilance inherent to felines.
