[Daji cosplay] Honor of Kings sweet Maid outfit photoshoot record

Shooting this Maid outfit for Daji from Honor of Kings was conceptualized around a sweet, dreamy pink-and-blue fantasy. To present visuals that both honored the character's design and immersed viewers in a dessert-filled afternoon vibe, I specifically selected this blue-and-white maid dress. Once the costume arrived, I found it packed with details—tier upon tier of lace, cascading ruffles, and a crinoline petticoat; simply dressing up properly took quite a while. To complement the pink wig and fluffy Animal ears, I focused on enhancing my eye makeup and wore bright blue colored contacts, endowing my gaze with that lively yet subtly alluring fox-girl presence, while keeping the base makeup crisp and radiant to match the overall luminous palette.

The studio set was styled with a giant spiral macaron-colored candy sculpture, framed by a soft pink backdrop and an abundance of white and pink fresh flowers alongside lush green foliage—turning the entire scene into an oversized dessert table. To add dimensional elevation, we placed a white cylindrical pedestal in the center. Standing atop it required cautious balance control to avoid stepping on the lace hemline given my heeled shoes and expansive skirt. The mini cake held in my hands was a real confection garnished with fresh fruit, requiring delicate, gentle handling to look completely natural on camera.

Inspired by her classic voice line 'Please order me as you please,' I explored several expressive states in my posing. These ranged from an obedient gaze into the lens while holding the cake, to playful and subtly tsundere poses with clenched fists, to lifting the skirt hem with one hand while holding a tiny dessert fork in the other, ready to savor a treat. The photographer continuously guided my angles—for full-body captures, standing at a slight three-quarter angle best showcased the layered nuances of the pink lace trim at the bottom of the skirt, the over-the-knee White stockings, and the platform Mary Jane shoes. In terms of illumination, soft lighting was utilized to highlight the gentle luster of the garment fabrics while avoiding harsh facial shadows. Though standing poised on the pedestal in platform heels for hours was physically demanding, seeing the dreamy, pastel-pink frames materialize on the monitor made every ounce of exhaustion worthwhile. This photo set aims to convey far more than a character's exterior—it captures the heartwarming, romantic ambiance of a girly teatime.
