Sharing this final photo set taken on the wooden platform by the outdoor pool. For this swimsuit theme, I chose a combination of mint green and light pink. The wig was dyed a low-saturation pink with twin-tails tied on both sides. Pushing the sunglasses up on the forehead is the key to this look, as it not only fully reveals the eye makeup but also adds a summery, breezy vibe.
Before shooting, I pulled the jacket half off so it just rested on my shoulders to keep a lazy vibe, while exposing the white ruffled camisole and shorts, with my thighs naturally bent to create shadows. The inflatable blue smiley ball and the quirky plush animal slippers at the edge of the platform are the visual centerpiece here, intentionally bringing the props into the frame to add a sense of everyday life.
The focus of this set of photos is on the natural flow of expressions and movements. The first picture mimics a midday rest on a rattan lounge chair, with eyes half-closed and the blue lenses of the sunglasses perfectly reflecting the pool water. In the second picture, I changed my sitting posture, twirling a strand of hair on the side with my finger and staring blankly downward. The third picture uses a half-kneeling pose, with my hand lightly resting on top of the large blue ball, casting a deeper shadow on the bridge of my nose as I look down to enhance my facial dimensions. The entire makeup was kept matte without over-highlighting, paired with a light, dewy base so it wouldn't create harsh white patches even under strong light.
In reality, a successful cosplay photo shoot relies not only on beautiful costumes but also on managing the interaction between the scene and the props. There is a huge contrast between the water texture and the wooden floor; if the lighting is too harsh, the reflections from the wood grain will fall on the legs and ruin the skin texture. During the shoot, we adjusted to a high-angle overhead shot and used a wide-angle lens to capture the complete blocks of color from the pool water and the ground, keeping the colors in the frame clean and unmixed. In post-processing, we mainly unified the warm and cool color temperatures. The combination of the light blue water and the mint green jacket looks very airy, guiding the overall tone toward a refreshing feel without forcefully adding heavy filters.
The prop slippers added a fun element this time; the faces on the slippers were actually composited in post-processing, and this little gag added some playfulness to the picture. During the shoot, I also made sure to use high-waisted shorts for the lower body to visually elongate my proportions, avoiding any horizontal widening effect from the slippers. This creative set was mainly meant to express a casual, slightly lazy summer beauty, where simply relaxing the body can convey the theme. We did a lot of experimenting with both the outdoor photography process and the anime-style fashion choices.
