The biggest dread at an Anime convention is getting Cat paw props dirty, especially light-colored plush materials that are notoriously tough to clean once stained with dust. I personally field-tested a super handy tip: taping wide Transparent tape onto the Cat paw props. Starting with material selection, I recommend wide Transparent tape; don't choose narrow tape, or dust will easily seep into the exposed gaps. The tape I used was about 4 to 5 cm wide. Cosplay isn't just about makeup fidelity; prop maintenance and practicality matter just as much. While using Transparent tape might sound unrefined, it is remarkably lightweight, adding zero noticeable burden and never hindering your walking posture or photo poses.

If wrapping just the bottom feels insufficient, add a few extra wraps around the ankle to withstand pulling during long walks. Submerging in water or thick mud isn't recommended—while dustproof, tape won't withstand deep water soaking or heavy mud. When squatting for shots, the tape catches sand and grit, acting as an effective barrier; when changing spots, simply patting the tape surface easily dusts off most debris.

You don't have to worry about prop weight or mobility restrictions either—Transparent tape is featherlight, offering virtually zero burden. Moreover, this tape is an inexpensive consumable: when dirty, peel it off and apply fresh tape to restore full protection, saving time and effort spent washing plush props while greatly extending prop lifespan. For white-based Cat paw props in particular, dirt leaves stubborn yellow stains that are hard to wash out, making Transparent tape the absolute best shield.
