[Keqing cosplay] Opulent Splendor Beneath the Mid-Autumn Moon

Today, I'm sharing this cosplay photoshoot of Keqing's Opulent Splendor outfit. For this studio shoot, we chose a solid purple backdrop and specially arranged a giant moon prop to embrace the spirit of the Mid-Autumn Festival. The left side featured traditional Chinese wooden lattice windows and warm orange lanterns, while the right was set with rockery stones and golden foliage—a clash of warm and cool tones that beautifully accentuated the subject's silhouette. The floor was laid with reflective material simulating a water surface, scattered with lotus props to lend the scene a surreal, dreamy quality. Since the shoot took place in early autumn, despite the studio's air conditioning, wearing the layered ensemble along with the shawls and wig still felt quite warm and stuffy.

Looking into the garment details, Opulent Splendor uses black as its dominant tone, accented with deep blue and gold embellishments. The top is a bandeau style joined by a semi-sheer black tulle panel in the center. An eye-catching golden geometric embroidered waistband cinches the waist, while the asymmetrical hem reveals flashes of its blue-and-black lining as I move. On the legs, the black pantyhose (Stockings) are patterned with soaring birds and starlight motifs, paired with black glossy buckled platform shoes to flatter the leg lines and heighten the anime aesthetic. For accessories, the black neck choker, deep purple wristbands, and delicate sheer fabric draping from the shoulders add exquisite dimension to the overall styling.

For the wig, I selected a cool-toned light purple, cut blunt bangs, and sculpted twin odango buns on top while letting the long side locks flow freely. To match the crimson eyes, the eye makeup incorporated subtle red blending with slightly upturned eyeliner to bring out a spirited gaze. A matte base makeup was applied to maintain a refined texture under the strong studio lights without unwanted shininess.

During shooting, the photographer and I experimented extensively with the lighting. The key light came from slightly above the front to sculpt facial features cleanly, while rim lighting traced the edges of the wig and flowing shawl. Background lighting was dedicated to illuminating the moon prop and golden leaves to establish depth. The black folding fan in my hand was dusted with silver glitter, catching the light with delicate sparkles that popped in close-up shots. For posing, to convey the airy elegance of the garments, I frequently swished the shawl or lifted my skirt mid-stride, opening and closing the fan to enrich my hand gestures. Because the mirrored floor was slick, I had to mind my footing while keeping facial expressions relaxed and eyes focused.

Cosplaying Keqing this time—from costume fittings and styling adjustments to wrapping up in the studio—was met with immense dedication from everyone involved. Releasing this set around the Mid-Autumn Festival feels particularly fitting, and achieving great results wouldn't be possible without the synergy of photography, logistics, and location. Every time I put on the wig and step into this outfit, I genuinely feel as if I've stepped right into that world. The color saturation and light-and-shadow nuances turned out just right, making this a truly satisfying milestone for me.
