A lot of thought went into this Lucy photoshoot, from trimming the wig to choosing the fabric for the costume. I initially thought the patent leather bodysuit would be very stuffy, and while it did feel restrictive when I put it on, this small sacrifice was completely worth it to replicate the character's sleek yet dangerous aura. The off-the-shoulder design really tests the presentation of the neck and shoulder lines, so before shooting, I specially adjusted my posture to make the contours of my collarbones and shoulders look sharper. In terms of props, the weight of this gun's grip is just right, and holding it allows me to quickly enter that state of "being on the edge but remaining sober." The colorful bokeh background in the scene is my favorite part this time; the halo of the bokeh gives the image a uniquely dreamlike Cyberpunk feel, while the cool blue-purple tones beautifully highlight Lucy's iconic silver hair and blue eyes. The photographer kept guiding me during the shoot to find that expression of "seemingly detached, yet inwardly determined," and the contrast in the final photos perfectly fits the character's own arc. Every time I cosplay a character with a techwear or sci-fi style, it makes me reflect on the meaning of role-playing—costumes and makeup are just the outer shell, what truly brings the character to life is the attitude we give them. This time, from the crouching pose to the standing position with the gun, and then to the emotional progression in the close-up shots, every frame was the result of repeated collaboration with the photography team. Although the studio temperature was quite high on the day of the shoot and the patent leather reflected heavily under the lights, seeing the final results made all the adjustments and attempts worthwhile. I hope this set of photos can convey Lucy's resilience of "not going with the flow, only walking her own path," and also give myself another unforgettable experience on this cosplay journey.
