[Sakiko Toyokawa & Wakaba Mutsumi cosplay] Arknights Ave Mujica Twins in Dark Gothic Style

A tremendous amount of care went into today's dark Gothic style styling. To recreate that mysterious yet detached aura of Sakiko Toyokawa and Wakaba Mutsumi, we paid close attention to intricate details in both garments and accessories. On my side, the light blue long hair was styled into a side braid accented with a golden iris hairpiece; next to me, the silver-white long hair was crowned with an oversized black wide-brim lace bonnet, a black cross choker around the neck, and a plush mint green bunny held in arms—instantly delivering a striking warm-cool contrast across the frame.

For makeup, I deliberately deepened the reddish-brown eyeshadow and paired it with light-colored contacts, hoping to align closer with the character's nuanced expression. The garment's neckline features black-and-white stripes and pleated ruffles, while the blue gemstone metallic pendant on the chest stands out vividly against the black attire; the lace frills and flared cuffs also offer rich visual depth. Since the costumes are predominantly black, I intentionally preserved the silver embroidered patterns so that under indoor studio lighting, they maintained a sense of weight without ever feeling flat or dull.

Shooting was genuinely a test of synergy between the two of us. Because this was a duo shoot, composition and positioning required continuous fine-tuning—especially since the voluminous black lace bonnet could easily cast shadows over the other person's face or bump against the background pillars. To achieve that intimate close-up framing, we tested countless angles, ultimately discovering that slightly tilting our postures and positioning ourselves on slightly different planes yielded the most dynamic depth. The plush bunny prop was deceptively tricky to handle: because it was so soft, my fingers inside the gloves had to exert constant subtle tension to keep it upright, all while keeping my facial expression completely serene.

The entire shoot went wonderfully. Although donning the multi-layered outfits was tedious, seeing the final photos made all the intricate accessories and styling feel thoroughly worthwhile. Dark Gothic style garments are notoriously unforgiving with lighting, where even slight overexposure can wash out fabric textures; fortunately, the lighting setup this time preserved both the rich textiles and makeup nuances flawlessly. Today's photoshoot was an absolute joy, and we are thrilled with how it turned out.
