This set of Arknights cosplay featuring Jie cosplay and Shu cosplay took quite a while to refine, from makeup testing all the way to the photoshoot. In terms of overall character styling, coordinating the wigs with the horns was a true test of craft. With multiple hair shades and layers, it required ironing and trimming layer by layer so the texture would look stunning under studio lights. The horns were made from a specialized lightweight material that avoided distracting reflections on camera. For makeup, we made noticeable adjustments around the eyes to create a deeper, more piercing gaze, which paired with colored contact lenses to distinctly evoke that otherworldly presence. The intricate patterns on the hands were drawn using specialized cosmetic pigments, which greatly enhanced the atmosphere alongside deliberate hand gestures.

The studio backdrop was a deep-blue moonlit curtain. We purposefully balanced cool and warm lighting, fine-tuning the angles repeatedly so the illumination on the face didn't look oily. The chairs, vintage books, withered branches, and the white blanket on the floor were all planned in advance. The greatest advantage of a duo shoot is being able to monitor each other's wig and garment details. When framing together, staggered positions and layered motions—such as one reading a book while the other turns back—made the overall composition much richer. We had to control our movements carefully; long flowing skirts are easy to step on, so we cautiously adjusted our foot placement for every full-body shot. Positioning the tail props also required technique, contouring along the body's natural curves so they appeared organically grown.

Interacting on set with my partner was very relaxing, turning the session into a seamless sisters photo shoot once the movements were locked down. A garment's drape shows best in motion, so we captured plenty of dynamic walking shots. Reviewing the selections afterward, the chemistry, rapport, and eye contact between us were deeply satisfying. I also gained great experience framing seated poses with long skirts—subtle aspects like the leg profile lines and toe angles make a significant difference in looking taller and slimmer. Traditional style cosplay places heavy emphasis on overall ambiance, so whether it is the folds of the fabric or the halo of the backdrop, everything calls for dedicated care and refinement.
