A tremendous amount of thought went into selecting the fabrics for this purple-and-black ensemble. For the upper body's sheer lace sections, to capture that dimensional depth seen in the official art, I chose elastic mesh paired with a dark base lining—achieving uncompromising visual fidelity while remaining practical for the chaotic convention floor. The tailoring of the skirt is fascinating: purple and black chiffon fabrics are layered in multiple tiers, and the swallowtail cut at the lower back creates fantastic kinetic flow while walking, which can also be highlighted in static photos through deliberate angle framing.
The leg styling is undoubtedly one of the centerpiece highlights of the look. Black lace thigh garters paired with over-the-knee Stockings (thigh-highs)—to avoid the awkward slipping of the socks after walking all day, I reinforced the bands with non-slip silicone strips and tightened the stitching along the top hem. The purple gem embellishments along the trim act as striking accents that catch the light with every step. The dark knee-high boots feature quite a high heel; while the golden trim along the sole and the metallic accents across the toe box look undeniably fierce, walking in them across the venue all day was truly a grueling test of endurance, requiring me to keep my weight pressed forward constantly.
For hair and makeup, the blonde twin-tails wig was trimmed into natural feathered layers, and the tips on both sides were sculpted with hairspray to prevent them from drooping while walking. The eye makeup focused on deepening the crimson blending at the outer corners, paired with purple eyeshadow to infuse that dramatic, chuunibyou yet sharply incisive edge.
At the shoot location, to match her aesthetic, the photographer selected an industrial passage featuring exposed steel girders and concrete steps. Sunlight streaming through the overhead glass roof cast crisp, dramatic rim lighting. To recreate that iconic pose from the official splash art, I struck the signature pose: covering one eye with a hand while extending the other arm outward. While it looks commanding and fierce, executing it was hilarious—between the custom eyepatch blocking most of my field of view and the blinding sunlight, I stood there virtually blind, relying entirely on the photographer's vocal cues to micro-adjust my facial angle and balance. Navigating the convention with that eye's massive blind spot kept me on high alert with every step.
Throughout shooting, whenever a gust of wind swept by, I had to plant my feet firmly to steady my balance and let the skirt billow properly. Because the neckline and shoulders feature strappy cutout tailoring, I had to keep my shoulder muscles engaged at all times; otherwise, the purple bow at the collar would tilt out of alignment. Overall, the lighting ambiance and garment details were captured spot-on, and even that crackling Electro tension from the character art was channeled vividly using the hard, sculpted light on set.
