[Arknights Cosplay] Full Roster at Shenzhen Anime Festival: Amiya, Kal'tsit, and Wishadel Group Shoot

I've finally sorted out the group photos from the first day of the Shenzhen Anime Festival! This time, my friends and I cosplayed Amiya, Kal'tsit, and Wishadel from Arknights. What was especially rare was getting both the big and mini versions of Amiya, as well as big and mini Kal'tsit together. Having these character variants share the same frame felt magical, and we were already buzzing with excitement while styling our wigs before the convention.

When it came to styling, we really went all out. The silver-white wig fibers had to be carefully balanced for brightness and fluffiness, so they wouldn't look plastic and overly reflective under the bright indoor lighting of the event. The beast ears for Amiya and Kal'tsit were a major focus: we carefully adjusted the inner ear positioning so they wouldn't tilt due to weight, and the subtle gradient from the black tips to the yellow fluff was finely painted to look natural on camera. The red horn props were securely anchored inside the wig, staying firmly in place while creating a strong visual contrast with the tactical design.

The contact lenses were chosen strictly based on character lore. Bright lake green, red amber, and deep blue lenses, combined with extended eyeliner and dense false lashes, immediately captured the essence of the anime characters. We specially opted for a matte finish on the makeup so it wouldn't easily smudge or break down even after hours of walking and sweating in the venue. The black leather choker with a metal buckle and the black ring-harness straps across the chest added a sharp tactical feel to the whole outfit.

We also put a lot of thought into the fabric textures. Wishadel's black leather jacket featured zipper stitching, and its stiff leather resisted cheap wrinkles. Kal'tsit's bright yellow inner shirt paired with a black coat created a vibrant color contrast that enhanced her aura. Amiya's light green vest over a white coat, accented with a medical stethoscope prop, delivered a strong foundation for her character design. Since the lighting at the Shenzhen Anime Festival was ample, the leather reflections, wig texture, and metallic choker accents were captured beautifully, giving the photos great dimensionality without needing heavy post-processing.

During shooting and interactions, we tried various poses and angles. While the first selfie used a wide-angle lens, it managed to fit all members nicely. The lower three-person group shot had clearer details and a more solid composition. To keep the multi-person cosplay looking cohesive, we intentionally unified the color scheme around black, white, and yellow to avoid a cluttered look. This full-roster group always gathered crowds of onlookers, and we could truly feel everyone's love for the Babel characters.

For cosplay, outfits and props are just the outer shell—what truly brings a character to life are the expressions and postures. We tried different emotions in front of the booth, from calm and cool to lively and energetic, striving to match each character's personality. This trip to the Shenzhen Anime Festival was also our first time shooting alongside smaller versions of the same characters, creating a wonderfully layered effect with the height differences and styling contrasts. Although running around the convention was exhausting, seeing these frozen moments made all the effort feel completely worth it. Grooming every strand of hair and touching up every bit of makeup are keys to enhancing accuracy, and that's precisely where the joy of cosplay lies.
