This Arknights Shu cosplay photoshoot set captured by my mom is finally published! Nearly 40,000 people saw the group photo from a couple of days ago, and I'm truly grateful for everyone's love. Today, I'm sharing the full set of final photos captured by mom. Honestly, this shoot was incredibly rushed. It was a spontaneous idea while I was back in my hometown. I had to ask a friend in Shanghai to dig through my place to find the costume and mail it all the way back to my hometown. Since my friend isn't very familiar with the layout of my house, the gigantic tail couldn't be found anywhere. Therefore, there's no tail in this anime cosplay photoshoot. I'd like to apologize to everyone first, and I will find an opportunity to do a re-shoot with the tail in the future.

On the day of the shoot, it was incredibly freezing, with the temperature at minus five degrees. My mom had never even touched a DSLR camera before. Before shooting this winter outdoor shoot, I had to teach her on the spot how to focus and press the shutter, which took nearly half an hour just for the tutorial. Because of the freezing weather and the hectic rush, you can see in the photos that my gloves weren't fitted perfectly. However, even though the wind was strong that day, the sky in my hometown really came through—it completely cleared up into a deep blue sky, and the distant mountains and snow in the background looked beautifully layered. Honestly, this slightly messy look actually adds a very authentic outdoor feel to the photos.

The costume itself has a lot of detailed designs, such as the off-the-shoulder white outerwear, the contrasting blue-purple inner layer, as well as golden chain accessories and a pearl necklace. The wooden deer antlers on my head are very textured, with a little green bird decoration perched on top. I really love the first photo; the movement of raising my hand makes the whole look very sharp. Even though my hands were shaking from the cold, the close-up shot beautifully captured the gradient blue and gold highlights of the wig, as well as the pointed ears and antlers, making it perfect for a cover image. The second photo is a wide shot my mom took by the riverbank; the withered yellow reeds and the water surface reflecting the snowy mountains completely maxed out the atmosphere.

Personally, I am incredibly satisfied with my mom's photography debut. This is my first time doing a cosplay shoot in my hometown, and my first serious attempt to get my mom involved in my hobby. This costume actually has quite some weight to it, especially the tassels and accessories which create a very light dynamic feel when moving around. Paired with the outdoor natural light, the texture is definitely much more vivid than an indoor studio shoot. I hope there will be more opportunities in the future, when the weather isn't so freezing, to take my mom to more beautiful locations for photo shoots.
