When shooting this Wuthering Waves duo photoshoot, the lighting across the venue was actually quite harsh. However, large areas of cool white light paired with the concrete floor unexpectedly provided an excellent contrast for our dark-colored costumes and bright blue accents. Partnering with Qiuyuan this time, we put a lot of thought into our styling—for instance, my high-slit metallic buckle belt with feather embellishments and her red-and-black plaid lining were designed to give the visuals richer layering. As for props, the gun and longsword were far from light, but to strike poses that felt both stylish and subtly dangerous, we repeatedly adjusted our positioning. In particular, the angle where I lifted one leg while she knelt on one knee leaning forward was a spontaneous idea on-site, yet the resulting frame turned out remarkably steady with a tight visual focus. As a Galbrena cosplay model, I specifically emphasized silver-blue hair and cool-toned contact lenses in my makeup and hair setup, aiming for a cool, aloof, and crisp disposition. Photographer WiFi offered plenty of pose guidance during the shoot, such as angling the gun barrel slightly toward the lens or utilizing low angles to elongate body proportions. Honestly, walking back and forth through the venue in high-heeled boots and shorts was tiring, but to capture the combat state of the characters, we gritted our teeth and pushed through. The costume material mixes metal, leather, and semi-translucent tulle, reflecting varied sheens under venue lights. In post-processing color grading, we preserved these realistic textures rather than over-smoothing skin, emphasizing high-contrast light and shadow boundaries instead. To me, the most fascinating aspect of Cosplay photography is the chemistry between partners—often a single glance or subtle turn transforms a static image into a dynamic moment. The "rescue team" theme was something we improvised on the spot; what started as casual shooting evolved into deep synergy, leading us to shoot five or six different pose sets in a row. Though the crowded hall naturally had passersby in the background, the photographer cleverly resolved this using a wide aperture blur, preserving the authentic anime convention vibe while keeping us as the absolute main subjects. Along the way, we exchanged tips on small costume details—how her blue bun stayed secured, how my waist belt avoided slipping—small nuances that contribute heavily to overall completeness. I hope these Convention photos convey our dedicated attitude toward these characters, and I welcome fellow Wuthering Waves fans to connect and discuss prop crafting and makeup experiences.
