[Cissia Cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Dark Techwear Combat Stance

This shoot features Cissia from Zenless Zone Zero. Translating the textures of this ensemble into reality was an exercise in meticulous detail; the clash between expansive glossy black leather panels and the pink vest delivers a potent visual punch. To faithfully mirror the character design, I attached the oversized white mechanical tail to my hip. While its internal armature was solidly reinforced, holding dynamic poses still demanded full core engagement to stabilize my balance. The white fuzzy pom-poms and in-ear monitor accessories were all set in place, paired with a long blonde wig. To capture the billowing motion shown in the frames, a high-velocity fan ran continuously off to the side; though it dried out my eyes, the candid results made it entirely worthwhile.

The makeup emphasized crimson pupils accented by deepened outer eye shading, striving for an aloof, combat-ready edge edged with danger. The custom polearm was crafted specifically for this project—featuring intricate gold hollowed filigree at the base and pink spikes at the top, it carried considerable weight in hand. Because the weapon was quite long, it imposed physical constraints during seated and standing poses, requiring nonstop micro-adjustments of my wrist angles. The low-angle seated posture in the second photo rigorously tested leg contours: sheer black Stockings paired with thigh straps visually elongated the lines, but balancing in heeled boots meant my leg muscles remained flexed throughout.

We staged the shoot in a low-key, industrial-style studio. Dominant dark backdrops paired with overhead top lights and side rim lighting cleanly etched my silhouette while coaxing out the metallic sheen of the leather. In a controlled studio environment, the lighting was finely tuned; the photographer continually adjusted key-to-fill ratios to emphasize fabric grain and layered strands of hair. To freeze that razor-sharp glare, we rehearsed the sequence multiple times. Anchoring the tail proved equally technical—securing it securely to the belt while avoiding exposed rigs during wide movements.

Achieving this final visual impact relied on relentless obsession over upfront details. From wardrobe patterning and prop paint finishes to on-set lighting direction, every component strove to honor the original game's aesthetic. This series not only showcases the character's appeal but also serves as a tangible exploration of Dark techwear style. I hope these images convey that unique cold, alluring combat aura.
