[Arknights Amiya cosplay] Geometric Light, Shadow, and Character Reshaping in Cosmic Solo - Image 2

A massive amount of effort went into the details of this Amiya Cosmic Solo look. The black-and-white patchwork dress features an outer layer of matte black fabric, which, when paired with the metallic waist straps and blue-and-white striped weaving, visually elongates the overall body proportions. The white inner skirt is overlaid with a layer of lightweight tulle, bringing out a beautiful flowing effect mid-motion. Recreating that pair of long rabbit ears on my head was quite a test of structural support; they needed to look natural yet stay firmly upright without tilting while walking, so fine steel wires were used inside for shaping. The matching black gloves, upper arm bands, and the long-handled prop in my hand went through several iterations of testing for gloss and weathering effects before finally achieving this visual result that delivers a solid weapon-holding grip without losing its lightweight feel.

The shooting process this time was a real test of team chemistry. Since it took place in a public indoor commercial space with high foot traffic, we had to squeeze in shots between waves of people to avoid causing any disruption. For instance, in the high-angle shot, to find the perfect vertical perspective, the photographer was practically crawling on the edge of the second-floor skybridge while I adjusted my position on the geometric floor tiles below on the first floor. We lined up the axis multiple times before capturing that intense sense of perspective via geometric composition. Another close-up shot utilized the glass railing next to the escalator, using the indoor warm yellow ambient lights as a background light source. The wide aperture blurred it into beautiful circular bokeh, separating the entire frame from the originally cluttered environment. This kind of workflow is a true test of a coser's professionalism, requiring one to quickly lock into their best state amidst a complex environment. The light blue colored contact lenses create a stark warm-and-cool contrast with the large areas of black and white clothing. In post-processing, we focused heavily on retaining the authentic texture of the face and the natural flow of the wig, making the light and shadow layers closer to a realistic solid-state capture and avoiding the plastic feel caused by excessive skin smoothing.

As a creator, beyond just replicating the appearance, I care more about weaving the character's calm and restrained traits into this specific look. The design of the Cosmic Solo outfit naturally carries a unique sense of narrative. To bring out the best in this shoot, the early preparations—from trimming the wig to fitting the clothing accessories—took nearly a month. The temperature on the day of the shoot was actually a bit high, and standing next to the escalator in long sleeves and a multi-layered skirt was quite stifling, but luckily, the final results brought some wonderful surprises. The photographer on set coordinated with me flawlessly, capturing the most brilliant moments without needing many words. This combination of physical exhaustion and the profound satisfaction of seeing the final photos is exactly where the unique charm of Cosplay photography lies. This set of photos includes both a somewhat experimental high-angle wide shot and a deeply emotional close-up portrait, and I am incredibly satisfied with it.
