When reviewing this set of photos, our primary focus was on capturing the cold, aloof, and mysterious mechanical Puppet character aura of Sandrone from Genshin Impact. The shoot took place in an antique study filled with hardcover volumes, where solid wood desks, a terrestrial globe, and a vintage rotary phone served as atmospheric props perfectly aligned with the character's classical and mechanical motifs. The garment's design is exceptionally intricate—particularly the multi-toned black, gray, and purple skirt tiers, the lace sleeve cuffs, and the gilded clockwork ornaments across the chest, which made donning it quite a feat. To preserve the tiered ruffles of the skirt silhouette, the internal frame structure required repeated fine-tuning. During shooting, deliberate restraint in eye expression was paramount; as a puppet, her gaze could not be overly animated, needing instead a hint of scrutiny and chilling detachment. For makeup, I paired contrasting red-and-blue contact lenses with reddish eye shading to heighten an exotic, otherworldly presence. Posing demanded a series of poised sitting postures, both to prevent creases in the fabric from distorting the overall lines and to utilize the white stockings and leg contours to exhibit the character's refined elegance. The lighting executed by the photographer was impeccable: warm ambient light washed over the scene, granting the entire composition the rich patina of a vintage oil painting. Post-processing focused heavily on retaining the metallic sheen of the dress trims and the fine texture of the hosiery. Beyond merely portraying her personality, wearing this wearable work of art naturally summoned that innate sense of absolute control. Through close coordination with the Cosplay photography crew on lighting setups and angles, we settled on the seated frame in photo two as the primary visual, as it cleanly unified the character's icy demeanor with the costume's visual weight. Slipping into this attire lets one palpably feel that inward haughtiness. Rather than chasing an immaculate 2D illusion, I preferred keeping a tactile touch of reality—such as the natural folds in the White thigh-highs outfit under directional lighting and the organic drape of the heavy hemline—infusing the final imagery with enduring vitality.
