Adjusting the position of the pointy ear props to ensure that the wig hair strands and the cross star of the headpiece for this shoot could perfectly fit the face shape. The details of this outfit are truly numerous; the blue-and-white alternating skirt hem not only features multi-layered lace, but the golden piping along the edges also produces a great reflective effect under the lighting. That dark blue capelet with a plush edge on the left shoulder actually carries a certain sense of weight when worn, yet it also increases the overall layering. To match this fantastical style, in the makeup, I deliberately chose light-colored contact lenses leaning toward a cool tone, hoping to get closer to that mysterious yet innocent feeling, and the eyeshadow blending was intensified to make the gaze look slightly deeper. Meanwhile, the white necktie on the neck and the huge bow on the chest actually had stiff lining padded inside to guarantee a three-dimensional feel, ensuring they wouldn't collapse no matter how I moved.
When shooting this set of pictures, the location was chosen as an indoor studio with a huge white window frame, surrounded by various colors of fresh flowers. The floor of the studio was covered with a film-like reflective material, so when sitting down, clear reflections of the skirt hem and legs could be seen on the floor, yielding exceptional light-and-shadow effects. The gesture in the first picture was thought of on the spot: one hand resting against the forehead as if gazing into the distance, carrying a hint of playful saluting feel, which, matched with the legs extended forward, could better showcase the pure white tights and slender leg lines, while also allowing the layering of the skirt hem to be fully revealed. The second picture changed to sitting on a white round stool, with legs crossed, hands clasped together under the chin, head lowered and eyes downcast, aiming to create a quiet and gentle atmosphere. The platform white boots also made the overall proportions look better, and the patterns on the soles were quite exquisite.
Shooting such big-skirt and stocking settings actually tests the stretch and openness of poses greatly. To ensure the arc of the skirt hem looked nice, the waist and back needed to be kept straight all the time when sitting, with the core tightened, so that the captured state would look natural without any hunchbacked fatigue. The reflective floor demanded extremely high requirements for lighting; even the slightest stray light or revealing flaw would be very obvious. Fortunately, the photographer's lighting setup was very professional, capturing the overall translucent texture, especially the reflective effect of the white stockings which was just right. The textures of the plush capelet and white gloves in front of the lens were also delicate, and the wrinkles of the gloves needed careful tidying to avoid looking too stiff. Smoothing out the lace pleats of the clothing to make the blue-and-white color scheme stand out more among the flowers—these early preparations and on-site minor adjustments were all for the final presented effect, hoping to display the character's elegant yet somewhat innocent temperament. During the shoot, special attention was also paid to the guidance of the gaze: looking at the lens in the first picture required a sense of communication, whereas the second picture increased the narrative feel through lowered vision. Trying out different angles is the only way to select the most satisfying pictures.
