Putting on this Kamisato Ayaka's Heron Princess outfit from Genshin Impact once again after a long time, re-experiencing the texture of the fabric fitting against my body, it was still a wonderful surprise when I got it in hand. This great price purchase was truly worth it; the details and craftsmanship of the costume are even better than expected, including the plush trim on the cuffs, the color-blocking design on the chest, and those delicate pink bow accessories, all beautifully layered.
Speaking of this Heron Princess look, what attracts me the most is its blue-and-white main color palette, which, paired with the silver-white long straight wig and the iconic large dark blue bow on top of the head, makes the overall styling refreshing, exquisite, and highly recognizable.
Actually, just for the wig part, I spend quite a lot of time re-styling it before each shoot, fixing the position of the bow on top and the shape of the little pink bows on both sides of the cheeks, striving to restore a feeling closer to the character. The scene for this shoot was chosen on a white plush carpet in my home bedroom, without setting up complex backdrops, simply using the simple switch panel on the wall and the white desk next to it as the background. Paired with the folding fan prop casually placed on the floor, this everyday home atmosphere actually took a lot of pressure off the shoot.
Doing cosplay at home is a method I frequently choose, as there's no need to consider outdoor weather or transportation, nor am I affected by changing light. As long as I find the right mobile lens angle, I can clearly record the cut panels at the blue-and-white border of the clothes, the white fluff at the neckline, and the smooth texture of the hair strands. The material and cut of this costume are relatively comfortable, ensuring a gorgeous look without being overly heavy or stuffy, making it quite friendly for long shoots.
For a classic and charming look like the Heron Princess, no matter when I put it on again, there is always a special sense of peace. A good character outfit stands the test of time, and at the same time, being able to purchase a high-quality costume for Cosplay outfit sharing at a satisfyingly great price makes the shooting process even more enjoyable. Digging out this outfit again in '26 is not just simply wearing it, but a retrospection of my past Anime cosplay experiences. Taking advantage of today's soft indoor light, leaving a few natural and authentic photos with my phone as a record serves as a small fulfillment of my obsession with this look. Although taking selfies at home lacks a photographer's assistance, it allows for more freedom of movement without being bound by rigid rules. A clean frame and a comfortable state are the core pursuits of this photo set.
