Shot outdoors in Toronto, this One Piece Boa Hancock cosplay coincided right with the extra time of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and the atmosphere outside the stadium was simply electric. To match the cheering energy for Norway and the Viking God of War Haaland, I swapped Hancock's traditional red qipao for a breezier white short-sleeved shirt—knotted at the hem to show the waistline—paired with fitted black shorts and a vintage-distressed brown leather belt. This casual pirate-inspired redesign keeps the Empress's commanding aura while remaining agile for outdoor streets.

As for props, the red pirate tricorn hat on my head is the soul of the look; I spray-painted and weathered the gold detailing on it myself. The small wooden barrel in my hand is actually empty, but having it as an accent in front of the lens adds a grounded sense of seafaring adventure. To stay true to the character, I opted for bright blue contact lenses paired with long gold drop earrings. With harsh natural sunlight, makeup longevity was put to the test—I used setting spray before heading out and touched up with loose powder several times during breaks to keep the wig neat and the makeup pristine.

The location was set in the sports carnival area along Toronto's waterfront, framed by multinational flags and red vertical banners printed with slogans. Standing outside the artificial turf pitch and watching people play created an incredible collision between Toronto ACG culture and real-world athletic passion. Posing in crowded public areas felt a bit socially intimidating at first, but I immersed myself completely in Hancock's confident, aloof presence—raising the wooden keg in one hand or reclining across a park bench to highlight leg lines. The brown tall leather boots, especially with legs crossed while sitting, elongated the silhouette beautifully. I even flexed one arm to show some muscle, which fit that Viking God of War strength surprisingly well.

Toronto's sun was blazing, and the photographer was running back and forth around the venue to nail the best angles. As part of an ACG street initiative, a lot of thought went into everything from costume customization to on-site shooting.
