After finishing shooting this set of "Nami custom setting" photos at the zoo photography meetup, I felt this outdoor photography attempt was quite rewarding while sorting and selecting images. In terms of styling, I deliberately abandoned the very classic outfit from the original work this time, choosing a red halter-neck tight miniskirt as the main visual. The wig with sunset orange hair color was styled into an updo braid, adding layers and thickness to make the overall look more three-dimensional. The focus of this outfit lies in the color contrast and detail reproduction; I specially applied the blue curled tattoo sticker on my left arm firmly, paired with the orange slender rod-like prop and the transparent round ball decoration on my wrist to ensure accuracy.

The natural light on the day of the shoot was very abundant, which was highly helpful for showcasing the texture of the wig strands. We switched between several different outdoor scenes, starting with a concrete stone platform by the waterfront. The half-kneeling pose combined with holding the orange long rod horizontally could excellently display the waistline and leg lines. The red high heels were very eye-catching on the gray-white steps, forming a subtle sense of balance. Later, we also used a golden-toned stairwell, letting the model lean against the glass railing to capture a few candid moments of looking back and flipping hair; the vertical lines of the steps stretched the visual proportions beautifully.

One point where a custom setting has more room for creativity than the original work is the freedom to blend into modern natural scenes. The green plant background by the flower bed, paired with a large aperture foreground bokeh, gives the whole photo a bit more breathing room. Compared to forcing poses, I prefer capturing dynamic movements in the sunlight and wind. For instance, when holding the transparent round ball accessory, a slight drop of the wrist or a minor shift in the body's center of gravity makes the state look much more relaxed. Because this red dress has a slim-fit cut, special attention needed to be paid to the exertion of the arms and shoulders during the shoot to avoid squeezing out extra wrinkles.

We also encountered some small challenges during the shooting process, such as the strong outdoor wind easily messing up the bangs. However, it was precisely due to the wind's participation that the dynamic sense in several sets of photos became more realistic. The photographer controlled the light and shadow contrast very well without over-retouching in post-production, preserving the authentic details and skin texture. This kind of portrait photography under outdoor natural light values the perfect coordination of weather, clothing, and movements. When we integrate the character into the modern gray steps and metal door frames, the character's traits are not diluted by the scene; instead, they become more vivid because of this contrast. This custom setting attempt gave me a new understanding of this character's daily state—not carrying a strong trace of performance, but completing this set of creations just like recording life.
