[Ajitani Hifumi cosplay] Blue Archive: Refreshing Little Angel by the Summer Pool

I've finally sorted out the photos from this previous Swimsuit cosplay set. The sunlight on the day of the shoot was fantastic, and the water reflections brightened up the entire frame. This white ruffled swimsuit is designed with a light, breezy feel; the black bows on the shoulder straps and delicate stitching details keep it from looking monotonous while preserving the character's signature adorable charm. The glowing yellow halo overhead was added in post-production; during the shoot, we only set up simple positioning markers for seamless compositing later. To build a cool, refreshing atmosphere, we specifically prepared a pink-and-white inflatable pool float and a clear beach bag. These props had great texture under outdoor lighting, especially with towels and sundries visible inside the transparent tote, adding authentic slice-of-life details.

The most enjoyable part of the shoot was splashing water. Initially, we tried several static poses, but always felt they lacked that unique summertime vitality. So, we decided to make the pool water dynamic, letting the photographer capture the water-splashing moments with a high shutter speed. This process truly tested our coordination: the height and angle of the splashes had to be just right, and it was easy to wet the wig strands and makeup, requiring touch-ups after each take. Fortunately, the final results were ideal—the silver-white water droplets refracted fine specks of light under the sun, forming a crisp and refreshing harmony with the pale blonde wig and white swimsuit. The hand-raising gesture in the second photo was actually the natural downward movement right after splashing water, captured candidly by the photographer without deliberate posing.

Regarding wig styling, managing this light blonde long hair by the water certainly posed challenges. Given the high environmental humidity, hair strands could easily become frizzy, so I applied two rounds of styling spray before heading out and touched it up lightly with a comb between takes. The side-ponytail hair tie used a matching white satin ribbon, ensuring it blended seamlessly with the swimsuit without clashing. Pushing sunglasses up onto the head as an accessory was a spontaneous idea that both blocked some glaring sunlight and added a relaxed vacation vibe to the overall look.

The location was chosen at an outdoor resort-style swimming pool, where the blue mosaic tiles harmonized beautifully with the surrounding greenery and rattan furniture. We avoided direct harsh front lighting as much as possible, taking advantage of the side-backlit angle around 10 AM; this cleanly sculpted silhouettes without casting stiff shadows on the face. In post-processing, the overall color tone was adjusted toward cyan-blue hues to highlight the crystalline clarity of the water while preserving the skin's natural rosy glow for our Cosplay photography.

This set took about three hours to shoot, with two makeup touch-ups and the wig getting splashed several times. Although standing by the pool for so long was a bit tiring, seeing those frozen water splashes in the final photos alongside the translucent luminosity under the sunlight made every moment worthwhile. Unlike traditional form-fitting swimsuits, the voluminous ruffles of this swimsuit add a playful touch, making it especially perfect for such an energetic theme.
