This time, the character I portrayed was Marin Kitagawa from My Dress-Up Darling, taking on a Succubus cosplay styling. The overall outfit features a black-and-white color-blocked design: the upper half is a crop top adorned with white ruffles and bows, paired with black semi-sheer mesh flare sleeves finished with white pleated hemlines. The bottom consists of a black tiered ruffled mini skirt, paired with black lace-trimmed ankle socks and small black wings attached to the back, creating a striking black-and-white contrast.
The wig is long, vibrant red and straight with blunt bangs, faithfully capturing the character's hairstyle. For props, I wore black plush devil horns on my head and pink elf ears, adding a layer of fantasy charm to this Devil horns outfit. In terms of makeup, I chose amber-toned contact lenses, deepened the eyeshadow and eyeliner, and used a rosy lip tint to brighten my complexion, making facial features align with the delicate aesthetic of an Anime cosplay character.
The shoot's background was relatively minimalist, consisting of a white door and clean white walls, with black-and-white checkered floor tiles naturally echoing the outfit's palette. Sitting atop a black cylindrical pedestal, I experimented with two distinct posing sets. The first was kneeling (seiza-style), raising both hands beside my cheeks into playful paw gestures; this pose showcased the crop top's tailoring beautifully while conveying the character's vivacious personality through body language. The second was sitting sideways, gently touching my chin with one hand while letting the other rest naturally on my lap. This pose focused more on accentuating leg lines, placing my weight onto one leg while bending the other outwards toward the right edge of the frame, visually elongating leg proportions alongside the black ankle socks.
In terms of facial expression control, I maintained direct eye contact with the lens, wearing a natural smile with a hint of playfulness and allure in my eyes. Even indoor lighting rendered the black-and-white fabrics crisp and distinct while preventing harsh shadows from disrupting facial contours. As a cosplayer, every time I take on Marin Kitagawa cosplay, I thoroughly study her personality traits; although this Succubus cosplay represents a derivative design, her inherently cheerful, openhearted essence was preserved in my expressions and body language. From wardrobe styling and prop details to pose design, continuous refinements were made throughout to deliver a cohesive visual presentation. The shoot went exceptionally smoothly, and the final edits completely met my expectations.
