This time, I'm bringing you Patchouli's Witch's Fabric new attire from Touhou Project. From the moment this outfit arrived, I had been brainstorming the exact concept for the shoot. The garment design itself is exceptionally intricate: from the massive pink-and-white bonnet to the cascading layers of lace trimming, the entire look radiates an intense blend of vintage Lolita charm and ethereal fantasy. The bonnet serves as the absolute centerpiece of the styling—constructed from multiple tiers of pink textile gathered with white lace ruffles, it carries considerable volume and weight, requiring precise angles to stay securely balanced during the session.
In terms of wardrobe styling, pale lavender and pastel pink-and-white set the overarching tone. The high-neck lace inner layer contours neatly along the neckline, while the oversized chest ribbon bow and antique purple gemstone brooch heighten its ornate luxury. The cuffs and skirt hem feature generous amounts of translucent tulle and delicate ruffled gathers, swaying with fluid drape and airy lightness in motion. To faithfully embody the character's traits, I selected a soft lilac wig with straight blunt bangs, braiding twin side plaits draped over the chest. Paired with doll-like makeup and purple cosmetic contact lenses, generous washes of pink blush and pale pink lip glaze accentuated a soft, endearing gaze.
The shooting location was an indoor greenhouse brimming with lush greenery and blooming flowers, where soft sage-green walls and natural daylight filtering through the windows established an exquisitely gentle ambiance. To enrich the composition, I prepared a vintage hardcover book and a single pink tulip wrapped in sheer white tulle as props. When posing—gently brushing the brim of the bonnet or holding the tome and blossom in quiet repose—each movement had to balance character portrayal with wardrobe display. Given the profusion of lace and accessories, every posture reset required smoothing out the fabric to prevent wrinkles from distorting the garment's silhouette. The tailoring of this Witch's Fabric dress is remarkably forgiving, preserving a flattering outline despite the dense ornamental layering. The entire session was a joy, with light and fabric harmonizing effortlessly. I hope these photos successfully convey this ornate, tranquil serenity.
