Sorting through this set of Perlica pose reference photos from half a year ago, I realized how relaxed my state was on set. Because the original plan centered around \"action quick-sketching\" and \"Pose reference\" as the core objective, during this shoot we paid special attention to body language expressions and natural prop interactions across various setups.
Great effort went into details for hair and makeup fidelity. Inside the white loose coat, a light blue-and-white color-blocked dress was worn, with a tricolor neck pendant and black multi-layered choker providing an excellent visual focal point. What satisfied me most was the pairing of Stockings cosplay with patent leather thick-heeled Mary Jane shoes; it not only made leg lines look clean and sharp, but also added a crisp, cool modern touch to the outfit. The two white buns on top and ice-blue contact lenses beautifully highlighted the character's unique distant ambiance.
In terms of action design, we used a variety of combinations trying to capture demeanors under different states. For instance, when sitting on a white box with legs crossed, I either rested my chin on one hand looking directly at the camera, or turned slightly sideways looking back. When standing, there were dynamic action snaps of taking a step on one leg, as well as static moments holding a silver short blade in a tactical defense posture. The design of wearing the coat halfway off the shoulders actually created more breathing room across many movements, preventing postures from looking overly tense. That silver short blade prop served as a great extension for hand actions; holding the weapon brought subtle changes to body gravity and skeletal curves, and photographer Lan Qiao excelled at capturing these details.
The studio used a pure light blue background on the shooting day, which was clean and bright, establishing a fantastic visual contrast between cool-toned costume/makeup and black hosiery. Studio lighting was kept soft without harsh shadows on the subject, making it very friendly for post-processing skin and garment textures. Having been kept as stock for over half a year, I selected quite a few images back when we finished shooting, leaving them on the hard drive without time to sort them out. Looking through them again recently while cleaning up the hard drive, I felt sharing this pose set might offer a composition reference for those who enjoy this style.
Throughout the entire shoot, garment texture and prop synergy were well executed. Whether it was the natural folds of the skirt spreading while seated, or the sharp style displayed by black tights and shoes while standing, we presented as much visual layering as possible within a limited backdrop. Moments captured as gentle breezes brushed through hair strands carried strong dynamic energy, adding a touch of natural, effortless agility to a static Studio portrait. Although this set is from half a year ago, I personally feel it achieved great completeness in expressing action reference capability. Sorting it out now serves as a nice retrospective on that shoot focused on action capture.
