Prior to shooting this set of photos, I had actually been looking forward to it for a long time. The bright pink long ponytail plus that pair of black-and-pink dragon horns inherently carry a contrast that is both sweet and cool. To recreate the character's temperament, we specially selected a deserted industrial ruins scene, where the iron bones and abandoned props happen to set off the character's sharpness.
On the costume combination, this look has a highly strong sense of functionality. The upper body is an off-the-shoulder color-blocked short top; the black, white, and blue geometric color blocks are both clean and layered, paired with the choker on the neck to deliver a flavor of restriction interweaving with freedom. What I love most is that pair of oversized bright pink oversleeves; the glossy material exhibits reflections under different angles, and adding those black straps and buckles increases the three-dimensional feel of the overall styling. The lower wear is white tight pants with a pink diamond grid texture. I specially paired them with black thick-soled martin boots; this loose-on-top and tight-on-bottom visual effect visually elongates the leg proportions while letting the posture look more upright and powerful.
In terms of hair and makeup, it was also the heavy focus of this shoot. The wig color is exceptionally vivid, with the main tone being a bright pink, and featuring blue-green highlights at the hair ends and sideburns; this color-clashing carries immense visual impact. For the eye makeup, I intentionally enlarged the eye contours paired with relatively pale blue colored contacts, making myself look filled with both the decisiveness of a combat-系 character and a slice of innocence belonging to a young girl. As for that pair of dragon horns, their material looks very rugged, and their position underwent many rounds of adjustments; to prevent them from looking out of place, I specially wore pointed elf ears behind my ears, attempting to blend a slice of otherworldly fantasy into the sharpness.
The shooting day was actually a bit muggy, but the exact fraction of a second I put on this equipment and picked up those two blue-and-pink prop guns, my entire state instantly entered character mode. We traversed between stairs, iron frames, greenery, and worn-out tires, and the photographer kept guiding me to look for those most natural moments. For the photo holding dual guns, I intentionally pointed the muzzles slightly downward, cooperating with a playful yet confident gaze, which beautifully balanced the oppression brought by the weapons, instead better embodying her relaxed and casual sweet-cool temperament.
Actually, out of the entire photoset, the one I cherish most and selected as the cover is that photo of me sitting on an abandoned industrial swivel chair. We had already been shooting for a long time before taking this photo; that position happened to have a beam of red light hitting an old gas tank, with iron cabinets and various instruments in the background, turning the atmosphere completely up to the max. I simply leaned back casually on the chair, stretching both hands upward to rest near the dragon horns, with my legs comfortably crossed and stretching forward. This seemingly relaxed posture is actually quite a test of core strength, but it is precisely this relaxed state that beautifully recreated the character's lazy yet ready-to-burst-with-energy side during combat intervals. The black martin boots look exceptionally textured under this slightly decadent industrial lighting.
This day of shooting actually consumed a lot of physical stamina, plus the costume features quite a lot of accessories, so putting it on and taking it off required spending a chunk of time. However, being able to seriously recreate every bit and piece of this character, from the embellishments on the fingernails to the patchwork design of the pants, makes me feel it's a highly meaningful thing. Whether it's studio shoots or this real-scene industrial style, the charm of cosplay lies in allowing a person to completely leap out of the daily framework to experience the styling and emotions of another world. Hope everyone can see the minor thoughts we invested in the final photos; this industrial theme attempt truly allowed me to harvest a lot of different shooting experiences, which is a great addition to my Coser daily life.
