When shooting this costume design, the weather had already begun to turn cool, and the studio temperature was intentionally lowered to match the atmosphere of the night and starlight. Even though I was shivering with cold, seeing the lighting results made all the hard work feel worthwhile. Styling the blue wig took quite a long time; achieving that airy bob cut texture required keeping the wig exceptionally smooth. The veil and hood were made of semi-sheer tulle, which easily reflected light or revealed the structure behind it. I had to be extra cautious during shooting—not only keeping the fabric folds looking elegant under backlighting, but also making sure the sheer fabric didn't reveal backstage supports on camera.

The trickiest part of this set was actually the giant butterfly prop and the matching lace tablecloth. To achieve the immersive feel in the first photo, I curled up almost at the edge of the tabletop, using perspective to make the butterfly look massive for a more mysterious touch. For the second photo, wanting to highlight my leg lines, I leaned my sitting posture deliberately to one side to better display the texture of the stockings. We tested many lighting setups on-set before finally settling on cool-toned rim lighting paired with backlight filtering through stained glass. When light filtered through the stained glass onto the blue astrolabe behind me, it truly created the illusion of drifting across a sea of stars.

I really loved the use of cool tones for this shoot; without needing flashy colors, minimalist white and ice blue captured the character's essence beautifully. Since I wasn't at peak condition that day, I touched up my makeup frequently, using purplish-gray tones to deepen the eye sockets and give my gaze depth. Combined with the unique colored contacts, keeping a straight face naturally brought out that aloof, ethereal atmosphere. Pre-shoot communication was equally vital—when framing the composition, I preferred leaving negative space for background elements rather than filling the entire frame, giving the shot room to breathe.

It was very late by the time we finished, and changing back into warm casual clothes felt like pure salvation. Despite the cold studio, the shoot went very smoothly. Every hand gesture and expression was shaped by imagining the calm wait for nightfall, hoping to convey a serene sense of sleep. Although this set took a physical toll, being able to capture this cold, elegant, and ethereal charm made it completely worth it. Wishing everyone sweet dreams—good night.
