[Hsin cosplay] Fox-Eared Girl in Wuthering Waves: Firefly ACG Expo Highlights

The free-pass photos from this visit to Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo are finally sorted out. The venue had massive foot traffic on the day, and ambient lighting was fairly complex. Fortunately, photographer @木偶puppet was skilled at finding suitable angles and reflector placements inside the hall, nicely avoiding cluttered shadows and bringing out the costume's rich texture.

This Hsin costume put a lot of effort into its color palette. The main piece features a black-and-white color-blocked tube top and corset design, where the tight tailoring accentuates upper body lines while leaving off-the-shoulder space. The outerwear section adopts eye-catching, large-area dropped-shoulder wide sleeves in red with graceful drape; the fabric transitions to pure white at the edges, trimmed with white fluffy fur along cuffs to create a flowing effect when moving. The lower hem combines a high-slit cut, making it easy to turn around and pose freely at the convention floor, while paired with chunky transparent heels to elongate leg proportions.

For makeup, red smudging around the eyes was deliberately enhanced, paired with pink lip makeup to present an innocent yet dynamic animalistic charm overall. The mint-green long wig was voluminous, styled with braids and an updo; heavy bangs framed the face contour. The pair of super large fluffy animal ears and black curved little horns atop the head served as the soul of the entire look, complemented by golden hair accessories and white tassels fixed onto them, looking full of intricate details on camera. A teardrop-shaped gemstone pendant and fine gold chain decorated the chest, adding overall refinement.

To match this red-and-white attire during the shoot, the photographer specifically chose a gray-floored area inside the venue. We laid a white circular fluffy rug over it, so that against the dark floor background, the character's outfit and hair color stood out dramatically. For the shots seated on the rug, a slightly turned pose beautifully displayed the collarbone lines from the off-the-shoulder design, while capturing full leg and footwear details. Meanwhile, the standing pose with one leg raised, paired with the fluttering sleeves, restored the light and agile feeling of the character in specific scenes.

The free-walk experience at Firefly ACG Expo was fantastic. Although the hall was somewhat stuffy and sweating under such a large wig and animal ears was inevitable, seeing the final shots made the entire preparation process feel completely worth it. Post-processing mainly focused on unifying skin tones and adjusting background bokeh, retaining the costume's original color saturation and luster. This look attracted considerable attention from passerby photographers at the expo due to its striking red-black-white color combination.
