Cosplaying Promeia this time, I felt the sheer challenge of this styling the moment I unboxed the outfit. The costume is primarily constructed from glossy patent leather spliced with sheer mesh and accented by various metallic hardware buckles, delivering a skintight fit once worn. The patent leather reflects light intensely—even a tiny speck of dust shows up immediately—so I spent considerable time buffing it down before entering the set. The mesh sections are delicate, requiring mindfulness not to stretch or pull too forcefully when moving. Where the top's mesh splices into white leather and metal clasps, it easily pressed into the skin when bending or raising an arm; with each posture shift, I smoothed the garment edges by hand to ensure seamless, clean lines.
In terms of props, the purple semi-ring weapon was lighter in hand than expected, but its volume was substantial, demanding spatial awareness to avoid clipping the studio lights when swinging it. To capture a faithful combat readiness, I rehearsed swinging motions in front of a mirror beforehand, aiming to channel strength laced with cold detachment. For makeup, purple contact lenses and deep, moody lips took center stage; to emphasize a piercing gaze, the eyeliner was drawn sharp and decisive. The wig looked fantastic under strong spotlights, yet tended to flyaway easily, requiring frequent combing and styling between takes.
The shooting location was an abandoned warehouse piled high with vintage CRT televisions, styled with metallic server racks and industrial grating floors. Bathed in blue and violet Cyberpunk lighting, the futuristic atmosphere emerged instantly. Because the Patent leather bodysuit is so form-fitting, I consciously engaged my core and regulated my breathing to accentuate sleek contours. The shot stepping atop a television set demanded precarious balance while projecting commanding authority. Given the heeled boots, perching on the narrow ridge of an old TV cabinet was genuinely nerve-wracking, requiring me to step up and down multiple times to find the optimal angle. To sell the visual impact, locking down core stability was essential to convey effortless dominance. For several kneeling shots, although the kneepads were padded, kneeling on metal grid flooring for prolonged periods left sore indentations.
Because the patent leather is entirely non-breathable, even slight perspiration was trapped inside, leaving me drenched like I had been pulled from water by the end of the shoot. During brief breaks, I meticulously wiped away fingerprints and dust with wet wipes before realigning the waist belts. With this photoset, I aimed to convey an aura tinged with melancholy yet brimming with visual menace, keeping my gaze casually aloof. Frequently, I deliberately looked away from the lens toward distant server cabinets, imagining myself immersed within that perilous world of miHoYo's Zenless Zone Zero. Across the entire session, despite the intense physical exertion, seeing the lustrous reflections across the fabric and the set's synergy made every bit of effort worthwhile. I look forward to taking on such daring designs again next time!
