[Vivian Cosplay] Recreating Void Hunter's Cool and Valiant Look Under Industrial Light and Shadow from Zenless Zone Zero - Image 1

Vivian's character design in Zenless Zone Zero inherently merges strong modern techwear elements with fantasy aesthetics. Deciding to tackle this look, my primary mission was capturing her detached yet effortless composure. The light purple gradient wig serves as the soulful foundation of the whole look; paired with translucent red contact lenses, a tear mole makeup accent at the eye corner, and pointed elf ears, character recognition is instantly maxed out. The black-and-white color-blocked clothing design is highly refined: the upper white shirt combines a black lapel with a blue-and-white striped ribbon tie for a subtle academic feel, but the open back cutout immediately breaks convention with clean skin exposure. The black leather-textured corset has a complex structure whose stiff material beautifully sculpts the waistline, supplemented by pieced purple geometric skirt panels and silver metallic chains, giving the entire outfit ample weight and layering.

To present a weapon texture closest to the character, I custom-commissioned a black-and-purple prop featuring intricate mechanical engravings and paintwork. When posing with it, I had to balance hand strength while factoring in perspective and occlusion in the camera frame. As for makeup, I pursued a clean, matte base without overly exaggerated colors, placing focus on red eye layering and seamless skin transitions for the Elf ear makeup and styling. The under-eye accents were very character-defining, bringing facial expressions to life so they wouldn't feel stiff against the heavy wig and props.

For this outdoor photoshoot location, I selected an industrial warehouse with overhead lighting, where mottled gray walls and sharp top lighting aligned wonderfully with the character's sci-fi apocalyptic tone. During the shoot, photographer @YY was brilliant at capturing light and shadow, utilizing strong light-dark contrasts from overhead lights to highlight reflections on leather textures while tracing hair rim outlines, making the subject stand out sharply against the dark background. We made numerous adjustments to posing, from shoulder-draped side glances to two-handed weapon stances, constantly aligning with light angles to convey the character's sleekest, battle-ready poise in this Cosplay photography session.

Naturally, the shooting process came with minor challenges. First, the unbreathable leather corset combined with layered skirts and a coat was undeniably stuffy; moving even slightly made it feel like body heat couldn't dissipate. Second, the prop weapon was quite sizable; holding it single-handedly while seeking optimal framing without breaking facial composure placed high demands on muscle control and center of gravity. Thankfully, the whole team was highly efficient, completing multiple styling sets in one go after solid communication. Every time I complete a cosplay set, I feel the most crucial aspect isn't merely visible clothes or props, but deeply understanding the character's universe and conveying that atmosphere through fitting expressions.

Throughout the entire creative journey, from planning to the final Anime-style photoshoot delivery, every single detail required meticulous care. Though complex in design, the outfit offered decent wearing comfort with solid seam stitching, eliminating worries of tearing during large movements. The wig strands maintained good texture even after repeated styling and exposure to wind. The final selected photos preserved raw textures without excessive retouching. I hope this photo set conveys the cool, unique edge of Zenless Zone Zero and Vivian.
