At the Zhuhai AS10 Comic Convention, I completed this Corin Wickes cosplay photoshoot from Zenless Zone Zero. The entire process—from changing outfits and securing the massive chainsaw prop to managing complex convention lighting—was a true dual test of stamina and camera poise.
Regarding props, this chainsaw was truly a heavyweight piece. Although constructed with lightweight wood and spliced PVC tubing, handling such a bulky handheld prop—especially lifting it into various combat stances—demanded serious wrist and core strength. For the green sections of the grip, the wood-toned hinge heads, and the perimeter of white saw teeth, I did extensive sanding and paint-sealing work beforehand. Roaming the hall with it on my back naturally drew curious glances from everyone around, with many asking if they could hold it for photos, making me feel like a walking weapon display rack. This matched Corin's housekeeping maid contrast perfectly: despite wearing a cute Maid cosplay dress, she wields a lethal circular saw. This mismatched dynamic is what makes the character so captivating to me.
For hair and makeup, I chose a mint green long straight wig, styled into low buns on both sides for a mechanical feel, finished with her signature cross-patterned black-and-white headband for immediate recognition. The makeup was kept clean, with red eyeshadow and eyeliner emphasizing eye sharpness to convey that expressionless yet combat-ready demeanor from the game lore. The outfit featured a unique black-base maid apron with white trim, large black buttons at the neckline, and a waist cinch belt. I repeatedly adjusted every strap and buckle for comfort, as wide freedom of movement was vital for frequent crouching and lunging poses. The black strap on the thigh was paired with chunky black platform combat boots, visually elongating the leg lines.
Huge thanks to the dedicated photographers at the shoot: Luochen, Afeng, Frog, Jerry, Buhuo, Luoting, Yeying, Shan, and Taozhi—almost every photographer gave me distinct visual inspiration. I remember during a low-angle shot where I knelt on one knee, resting one hand on the floor and the other holding the long handle, the photographer used an ultra-low wide angle to make the circular saw look colossal, as if it would crash down any second. There was also the look carrying a small brown teddy bear on my back; under top-backlight conditions, the photographer used a silver reflector for fill light, instantly giving the frame a cyberpunk texture. The spark effects added in post-production were also planned out during pose discussions on site, making the shoot run as orderly as a mini film set for Convention photography.
Over the two days at Zhuhai AS10 Comic Convention, though exhausting, I met many fellow fans. Whether merch collectors or general attendees, everyone's enthusiastic feedback when seeing this gear gave me tremendous confidence. As a cosplayer, being able to project the character's charged energy and the raw combat prowess hidden beneath a fresh appearance through the photographers' lenses was my greatest reward at Zhuhai AS10 Comic Convention. The Convention photography delivered by the photographers is of superb quality, and I will sort through more photos from varied angles to continue recreating Corin's unique charm in this Maid cosplay.
