[Remielle Cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero 2nd Anniversary Flower Rain Rondo Theme Record

For this Remielle cosplay under the Flower Rain Rondo theme, coinciding with the milestone of the Zenless Zone Zero 2nd Anniversary, my photography team and I chose two contrasting styles to complete the presentation. The original design possesses both nimbleness and mystery, so I used the light white-and-blue costume in Photo 1 and the dark gothic style in Photo 2 to demonstrate Remielle's duality under different lighting setups.

First, talking about the styling in Photo 1, the overall color scheme leans toward fresh and dreamy. For the wig, I selected layered short pink hair adorned on both sides of the top with silver cross-star hairpins, details that immediately capture the character's recognizability. The costume is the main highlight: the upper body features a white halter-neck bustier design with a subtly exposed neckline, offering just the right amount of negative space. The collar is paired with a blue neckerchief and a massive pentagram necklace, while crossed woven lacing and cascading purple-blue tassels down the center chest add to the overall lively rhythm. The sleeve design is very distinctive, forming a broad, translucent lantern sleeve structure, with structured sleeve covers lined in orange-red accenting the outer arms—this collision of soft and hard materials creates rich layering. The skirt hem features white translucent lace frills with irregular cuts and subtle embroidery, paired with white over-the-knee stockings, making the overall visual impression exceptionally light and soft. To complement this ethereal aura, shooting Photo 1 utilized abundant pinkish-purple ambient light alongside scattered lens halos from crystal chandeliers, while the white carved screen in the background rendered the frame even cleaner and more translucent.

As for Photo 2, it conveys a completely different atmosphere. This predominantly black look returns to a dark gothic style, extensively employing translucent black gauze, glossy leather, and metallic hardware. Inside, I wore a white shirt with a black bow tie, layered with a custom leather corset attached to belt straps with metal buckles and chains. The sleeve covers shifted to translucent black bubble sleeves decorated with metal ring clasps. The lower body focus rests on black garter stockings and thigh rings, a design that elegantly elongates leg lines to demonstrate the character's sharpness and sensuality. The lighting and set setup for Photo 2 were also starkly different: we selected a vintage purplish-black velvet sofa trimmed in gold, accented with red rose branches. Background lighting was kept dim, using spotlights to intensify face and body contours so that the glossy sheen of eye and lip makeup popped out, creating a lavish yet subtly dangerous vibe.

When designing and executing this shoot, I paid close attention to combining character makeup and styling with camera language. Photo 1 pursued soft makeup, combining peachy-pink eyeshadow with a matte lip to echo the pink hair color. Conversely, Photo 2 deepened eyeliner and shadows to emphasize a sharp gaze and dimensional facial structure. These two Cosplay outfit choices were also intriguing in material treatment: Photo 1 heavily relied on lace, nylon, and translucent tulle to highlight airy lightness; Photo 2 utilized opaque heavy fabrics, leather, and metal, conveying a stronger sense of weight. Before the lens, different settings evoked distinct levels of immersion. The relaxed sitting posture in Photo 1 made me feel as if I were in a fantasy-filled dreamscape, whereas kneeling before the vintage sofa in Photo 2 demanded interaction with the camera through hand gestures and more direct eye contact.

The Zenless Zone Zero 2nd Anniversary is a milestone worth commemorating, and interpreting Remielle inspired by \"Flower Rain Rondo\" felt like a breakthrough attempt for me. Whether through the pure white ethereal look in Photo 1 or the dark lavishness in Photo 2, I thoroughly experienced the unique charm of this character. Throughout the shooting process, prop coordination and emotional switching led me to rethink the possibilities of cosplay. Often we merely duplicate a character's appearance, but through varying color palettes and atmospheres, one can reveal different facets of a character. This shoot also experimented with compositions from various angles, avoiding clutter that could disrupt visual balance, striving to make every frame capable of standing alone as a cover image.

Collaboration with the photographer was also seamless, with high-key and low-key lighting switches executed with precision. Photo 1 utilized side-backlight rim lighting to illuminate the translucent bubble sleeves, enriching the costume's layering; Photo 2 precisely controlled shadows to prevent shadow detail loss while highlighting leather luster. Additionally, wig care was crucial—short pink hair easily looks messy, so I performed extensive setting work before shooting to ensure cross hairpins stayed secure and bangs curved naturally to frame my face. As a cosplayer, taking details seriously is the only way to bring a part of the original character's soul into reality. This shooting experience brought me fresh understanding of the character, and I truly enjoyed this creative journey.
