Taking on Remielle from Zenless Zone Zero this time revealed just how wonderfully layered this look truly is. The core outfit features a fitted white corset paired with an asymmetrical hemline, packed with intricate cutout details and strappy accents. Recreating such a sophisticated design required immense thought during dressing and styling. In particular, the translucent blue, violet, and orange tulles and satin ribbons draping along the waist and sides float with natural grace whenever I move or strike a pose. The detached arm sleeves are also very unique—silver metallic arm cuffs paired with gradient ribbon streamers blend sci-fi tech with fantasy flair.
The most demanding element was undoubtedly the pair of massive white feathered wings on my back. To achieve a substantial, volumetric presence on camera, both the structural armature and plumage were built very solidly, which noticeably pulled my center of gravity backward. Throughout the shoot, I had to keep my core engaged to maintain an upright, regal posture. Poses like the single-leg lift in photo 1 and propping my heel on my knee in photo 3 required secretly exerting steady core balance while keeping my facial expression relaxed and effortless.
For hair and makeup, the combination of short pink hair and elf ears immediately catches the eye. For the eye makeup, I chose soft reddish-pink blending paired with colored contacts, aiming to evoke a clear, luminous, yet focused gaze fitting her angelic nature. The four-pointed star cross headpiece was also carefully secured.
The shoot took place in a studio adorned with white classical sculptures and arched windows. To harmonize with this sacred, pure atmosphere, high-key lighting was utilized, making the overall frame bright and luminous. When aligning on the creative direction, we wanted to steer clear of an overly sugary-sweet vibe, introducing dynamic extension and strength into the posing—such as the heel-on-knee stance and cradling a cheek. These poses showcased slender leg contours while striking a captivating balance between cool detachment and playful allure. Silver pointed-toe stilettos paired with thigh rings also visually elongated leg proportions.
Bringing this photo set to fruition owes much to the photographer's mastery of light and shadow. To accentuate the white textile textures and the delicate feather gradations, the key light was kept delightfully soft, minimizing muddy shadows to render silky skin tones. The plaster sculptures in the background brought an innate classical solemnity that sparked a fascinating visual chemistry when juxtaposed with Remielle's aesthetic.
In pose choreography, I explored varied physical extensions. Standing, I consciously dropped my shoulders and straightened my spine, letting the wings cascade naturally to convey grounded presence; in the seated shots, I shifted my weight to one side with legs softly curled, using the pointed toe extension to anchor the composition. Subtle fingertip gestures—gently touching my cheek or pinching the hemline—brought organic life to the character rather than appearing static.
Rather than purely static poses, I love snapshots infused with kinetic momentum. Though demanding on muscle control, it far better flatters the garment's tailoring and the grandeur of large-scale props. Tackling characters with massive wings or complex gear is always a test of endurance and balance, but that is the true joy of cosplay: bringing virtual characters into reality and feeling their boundless strength.
