This character design from Zenless Zone Zero has so many distinctive features; to authentically recreate that two-dimensional Anime girl charm, tremendous effort went into hair, makeup, and costume prep from early morning. After getting dressed, calibrating the backpack harness and fastening the leg warmer suspender straps alone took quite a while, ensuring they hugged the legs snugly without snapping during high-energy action takes.
The wig was styled into light-green twintails, topped with a black cat-ear headband trimmed with white lace, flanked by blue ribbons and candy-colored hairpins. Makeup prioritized eye definition: striking bright blue circle lenses paired with soft pink blush to channel that quintessential anime Loli feel. To make sure the hairstyle held crisp silhouettes even mid-leap, hairspray hold was tested multiple times beforehand.
The wardrobe pairs a pink cami tank top featuring playful graphic prints with black sporty shorts. The standout feature on the lower half is the pair of oversized white leg warmers detailed with black geometric accents at the knees, tethered to the shorts via black suspenders to add dramatic motion flow when pacing. Footwear features chunky platform sneakers in a black, white, and neon green colorway. The scarlet backpack serves as a primary visual anchor, fitted with circular black hardware and small translucent white wings at the back. The accompanying prop gun matches in crisp red and white with a green ring inside the barrel, carrying tangible heft in hand.

The beauty of a cyclorama studio is how cleanly it isolates wardrobe and character hues without visual clutter. Under pure, bright key lights, the scarlet pack and azure accessories popped with brilliant saturation, perfectly reflecting her design aesthetic.
The shooting session demanded real stamina. Sunna's postures are wide and spirited, requiring vibrant kinetic energy. I explored standing on one foot with the blaster slung over my shoulder, aiming directly into the lens, or raising arms high while kicking back one leg. Freezing these moments meant continuously fine-tuning angle and muscular tension. Moving quickly often made hair and fabric trajectories hard to govern, demanding steady core balance and facial expression management. In the frame aiming right at the camera, keeping my posture rock-steady to lock focus on the face while projecting an intense yet focused gaze required multiple takes.
Expression-wise, Sunna is confident and slightly mischievous. I worked to keep my eyes bright and focused—intense when pointing the firearm, slightly cocking my head when resting cheeks on hands or posing with hands on hips. Rich details pop across the photos: red ribbons on the white leg warmers, red shoulder straps, and black-and-white lace wrist cuffs, all of which shifted during broad movements and needed frequent realignment between shutter bursts.
Collaboration with the photographer was key. We aligned on capturing two contrasting moods: sugary charm and armed, combat-ready coolness. We tested varied angles for the prop blaster—slung casually over the shoulder for ease, or leveled straight at the lens for dramatic punch. In the controlled studio without ambient light pollution, one key light and two fills provided translucent separation, etching subtle rim lighting around my silhouette to pull me cleanly off the backdrop.
