[Velina cosplay] Visual Presentation of Zenless Zone Zero and Genshin Impact Aesthetics

Bringing this Velina look to life took meticulous care and polishing from initial garment patterning to the final shoot. The color palette centers on white, gold, and blue, anchored visually by the golden metallic breastplate over the chest. To ensure it fit the body cleanly while carrying substantial weight on camera, the lacing and straps along the back were adjusted repeatedly. The high-neck golden collar—set with a circular black gem—harmonized with the golden waist disk, gear motifs, and azure gemstones, casting sharp metallic specular highlights under the lighting. On the lower half, white straps crisscrossed the calves and thighs, paired with white strappy high-heeled sandals that elongated leg lines beautifully, harmonizing with White stockings aesthetics.

The wig featured vibrant gradient blue locks tied into twin tails, flanked by golden openwork hairpins and feather-like ornaments for intricate textural depth. To complement the cool-toned wardrobe, I wore bright blue circle lenses, blending subtle red eyeshadow smudges at the outer corners with visible blush to give the visage a serene, slightly enigmatic presence before the lens.

For set design, catering to that blend of fantasy and classical grandeur found in Zenless Zone Zero and Genshin Impact, we selected a studio dressed with carved arched windows and European neoclassical sculptures. Props included an antique picture frame and a black carved high-back armchair. This chair served as both an ergonomic anchor for various Photo poses and an architectural element that gave the composition multidimensional layers. Directional side-backlighting pouring through the window cast sharp contrast across the statuary and purple flora.

The shooting process proved far more physically demanding than expected. Posing upright in the chair while reaching a hand toward the camera demanded an erect spine, an elongated arm line, and an unblinking, direct gaze into the lens. In the profile shot leaning against the chair back, the leg strapping had to be aligned precisely to flatter bodily curves without digging into the skin. Shots resting prone on the blanket harnessed light skimming across the blue wig to create luminous hair sheen. The lighting required continuous repositioning—relying on rim lighting to trace metallic hardware contours while avoiding blown-out highlights on the white fabric. Sequences using the frame as foreground framing or leaning back across the throne to project visual drama pushed core stabilization to the limit.

This shoot marked a creative step forward in evolving my content. From fine-tuning garment detailing to experimenting with dynamic Photo poses, the goal was to breathe multidimensional life into the character. Moving beyond superficial costume accuracy, we used light, shadow, and environmental storytelling to make each frame feel like a narrative slice. While there remains room to grow, exploring these diverse camera angles was deeply fulfilling, and I hope everyone can feel the dedication poured into this project.
