For this Yixuan shoot, we selected a warehouse setting with a raw industrial aesthetic, surrounded by wire mesh, chains, wooden crates, and oil barrels. This rugged ambiance anchored the high-gloss patent leather jacket, creating striking visual contrast. The lighting utilized sharp color temperature balance: ambient blue-purple tones washed the background wire mesh and shelving, while a focused hard light cut across the foreground to make the patent leather gleam.
The stiffness and reflectivity of patent leather dictate photo quality. Perspiration causes the fabric to stick to the skin, challenging fluid movement. For the full-body shot stepping onto an oil barrel in high heels, maintaining balance to prevent slipping required constantly engaging my core, lower back, and thighs—which in turn made the leg lines look exceptionally taut and streamlined. Pairing Sheer black pantyhose with the white-trimmed patent skirt and heels created immense visual impact. Retouching focused on authentic leather sheens and hosiery textures rather than flat airbrushing.
For makeup and styling, white hair paired with golden contacts was central to the character, and the black geometric forehead accessory completed the signature silhouette. To channel her aloof, haughty temperament, makeup emphasized reddish eye accents, paired with a distant, nonchalant gaze. Lowering the chin slightly while looking up into the lens added captivating tension. Blue floral lapel accents and lace cuffs softened the armor-like leather edge. Holding seated poses on metal barrels with crossed legs elongated lower proportions, creating a bold, authentic Industrial style photography piece full of attitude.
